JARS J.A.R.S. is the annual golf pilgrimage of John Capriotti, Anthony Capriotti, Randy Smith, and Scott The J.A.R.S. The game was always the same; John & Randy vs.

Cup began in 2005, however the annual golf pilgrimage of John Capriotti, Anthony Capriotti, Randy Smith, and Scott Windfelder started many years prior. In 1998; Scott, John, and Randy moved from Pittsburgh to Atlanta, and a year later, Anthony followed suit. The four of us routinely played in Atlanta, or when we would take a weekend excursion out of town. Anthony & Scott. Slowly we started to get

married, and 3 of the 4 of us moved out of Atlanta. However, for every wedding, bachelor party, or vacation that we all went on, we played the same team game. We would even carve out a weekend or two each year to meet in one of the others hometown to play. We continued to play the same 2-man teams, and at some point, we started betting more than guys in their mid -20’s should. At the end of each of our trips, two guys would be holding all the winnings, and two would be quite sour. After a trip in 2004, the betting got so contentious that none of us wanted to say goodbye to each other at the airport. In the following off-season, the J.A.R.S. Cup was born. Instead of playing in teams, and for high stakes, we play individually and only for the bragging rights of keeping the JARS Cup for the year. Each year, the champion gets a new red champions hat, and the trophy to keep in their office until the following season. The trophy has the location and champions name engraved around the base each year. The tournament is held every year at a new location, with three days of competitive golf. Thursday is a practice round. Two rounds on Friday, and the final 18 holes on Saturday. Saturday night is the Champion’s dinner. Held at the best steakhouse in town, regardless of our location. And no matter how fancy the restaurant, we always show up with the J.A.R.S. Cup, to be filled with the winners favorite beverage to be drank by all. The inception of The Cup has taken the four of us to some great locations, and the bragging rights that go along with being that year’s champion are greater than any Nassau payout.
