About a month ago, one of our senior leaders issued a challenge to the boys' team. He said, “Guys, if we go to state, we all have to get a buzz cut!” There was some apprehension, but they eventually “tentatively” agreed. There were still several matches to be won, but there was a clear goal in mind.

Well, one month later, we followed through on the agreement. Haircuts are temporary, but the character to keep one’s word, the memory of being a close team, and the friendships at this stage in life are forever. No matter the result on Monday and Tuesday, we are proud of this team’s character and camaraderie.

Our tennis teams SHOWED 👏🏾 OUT 👏🏾 at the sectional tournament last Thursday and Friday!! Our girls did an amazing job and placed 4th out of 9 teams. in the section with several players advancing to the semifinals and our #3 doubles team (Emmarie Avery and Clara Reiff) advancing to the finals.

For the first time in over a decade, our boys team is and will advance to the AHSAA state tournament next Monday and Tuesday, 4/20-4/21 at the Mobile Tennis Center! Our team knew this was the goal all season. We knew we had to execute and did exactly that. Through defeating teams that they lost to in the regular season, tough play, and 5 flights that advanced to the finals ( #1 Doubles: Nathan Vecsey/Sawyer McGowan, #2 Doubles: Vincent Ball/Ronin Bryce, #2 Singles: Vincent Ball, #3 Singles: Sawyer McGowan, #6 Singles: Kior Ball), they are your AHSAA Class 7A Section 1 Runner Ups.

We’re so proud of both of our teams and what they have accomplished this season! Keep cheering us on as we head to state next week!!

The tennis team would love for you to support them as they take on Alma Bryant. Both our girls and boys teams earned area wins on Monday and we want you cheering us on! Our boys are 7-2 (5-2) and our girls are (4-5)(4-3). We will be honoring our seniors before the match begins and would love for you to join us as we celebrate these awesome student-athletes

The Foley High Tennis Team picked up big overall area wins for both our boys and girls teams!! We completed a FULL SWEEP 🧹🧹

Boys: 9-0
Girls: 9-0

Our boys are 5-0 (4-0) and our girls are 3-2 (3-1) on the season. We have 5 straight home contests and can’t wait to see you there! 🎾🎾🎾
