These girls spent 12 hours at the ballpark and battled a BLAZING heat index >100 degrees! 🥵

Game 1, we came out flat after an hour and a half lightning and rain delay and fell short in our first pool play game.

Game 2, after a 3-game break, these girls came out swinging hard and running bases aggressively, turning heads and winning 16-1. Congrats to Maggie Duggins who joined the homerun club! 💪🏻👏🏻💚

Another game break and we went into bracket play as the 4 seed, matched up against a very good #1 seed Ohio Hawks team.

Although we fell short, we are so proud of the resilience the girls showed in the extreme heat. They never complained and kept playing hard.

We are off next weekend then return to the field for the USSSA Kentucky Fall State September 19-20.

Let’s go! Next tournament, coming at ya! 💚🥎💚

What a great start to our fall season! These girls have been putting in the work and getting to know each other over the last 3 weeks, and this weekend, they got to show it! 💪🏻💚

They were a FORCE on offense! BIG hits, timely bunts, aggressive and smart base running. We have challenged them to take additional bases whenever possible and they rose to the challenge. All gas, no brakes! 💨

Our batting average with runners in scoring position was 0.711! My favorite stat of the weekend…6 strikeouts in 104 plate appearances 🤯🤯🤯

Our pitchers…PHENOMENAL! They stayed poised and focused, even after a walk or hit batter. They combined for 23 strikeouts with 2-hit, 1-hit and no hit performances.

We return to the field this Saturday with new opposition and challenges to meet head on. Their chemistry and teamwork was evident this weekend and will only continue to grow!

Edited to add…they scored 68 runs averaging 17 runs/game!

Happy 10th birthday to one of our newest Girls In Green, #33 MURPHY PAYNE.

In her first tournament with us, she had 11 plate appearances with an average of 0.714, 5 hits, 4 RBIs, 2 walks, 2 hit-by-pitch, and 7 runs scored! Not to mention, helped bring home the championship! 💚

Her versatility in the field allows her to be utilized in multiple positions and her personality brings a smile to everyone’s face!
