Mount Saint Joseph Academy is featured first in the Philadelphia Business Journal's story on campus investments at private schools across Greater Philadelphia.

The article spotlights our new Athletic Center, opening this fall on the 78-acre Flourtown campus. It is our first major athletics facility investment in decades and includes an expanded fitness center, an athletic training room, coaches' offices and bleacher seating for more than 600 spectators. It will also be home to alumnae events, admissions open houses and school-wide gatherings.

Made possible through Beyond Pearls, our $20 million capital campaign. More than $10 million raised so far, thanks to this community.

The grand opening is Friday, October 23 and RSVPs are open now. We'd love to see you there: [RSVP link] πŸ’œπŸ’›

Today's summer story is from Piper Richardson '29!

Piper was selected to participate in the prestigious Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Summer Intensive in New York City in July. A dedicated dancer at the Blue Bell School of Dance, Piper joined talented students from across the United States and around the world for advanced training in ballet, modern, jazz, and contemporary dance. 🩰

Beyond the studio, she embraced the opportunity to experience New York City’s vibrant summer culture, diverse communities, and renowned arts scene. The intensive strengthened Piper’s technical and artistic skills while fostering confidence, independence, and a deeper appreciation for the power of dance and cultural connection. πŸ™οΈ

Congrats, Piper!

Ava Smith '26 competed at the World Rowing Under-19 Championships in Plovdiv, taking the seven seat in the U.S. women's eight. During her time at Mount Saint Joseph Academy, she helped the varsity eight reach the "A" final twice at USRowing Youth Nationals.

Rowing runs deep in the Smith family. Dad Don rowed for the U.S. at the 1996 and 2000 Olympics, her brother rows at Stanford, and her sister rows at Texas. Her youngest sister, Arden, joins the Mount as a freshman this fall.

Days after returning from Bulgaria, Ava is off to the University of California, Berkeley, to row for the Golden Bears.

Congratulations, Ava. We are proud of you, and we will be watching every race. Mount Saint Joseph Academy Crew USRowing UC Berkeley Cal Women's Crew

This Mount Summer Story is from Ms. Nikki West, Executive Director of Mission and Inclusion! πŸ’› πŸ’œ

This summer, Ms. West participated in the second Spirits On Fire Immersion Trip in Darien, IL. This 3-day immersion experience brought back 25 mission-infused leaders working in ministries sponsored by the Sisters of Saint Joseph. Friends and colleagues came from as far away as California and Missouri to Florida and Pennsylvania. This was an opportunity for participants to reconnect in their understanding of the mission and charism of the Sisters of Saint Joseph.

In the first trip, Ms. West learned about the humble beginnings and mission of the work done by the founders - Father Jean Pierre Medaille and the six Sisters - who started their ministry in Le Puy, France. As mission-driven leaders, participants discussed lessons learned over the year, and about the meaning of the six pathways connected to the Sisters’ mission, with their small groups. These pathways lead to the fulfillment of the mission through sponsored works to "engage with the dear neighbor without distinction”. Participants focused on the spirituality and core values that are incorporated into the work that each person does in their roles.

The picture is the delegation from Pennsylvania from Cohort 8 whose leadership includes work in the areas of education, health care, and social justice work.

β›³ For over 33 years, our Golf Classic has been a hole-in-one for Mount Saint Joseph Academy students! We've raised over $2,131,600 in scholarships, making Mount dreams come true for hundreds of young women. This year's Golf Classic will take place on Monday, October 5th at Green Valley Country Club. Register now on our website!

AND, on Tuesday, October 13th, we will host the Golf Ball Drop on the Mount's campus. Mount President, Sister Charlene Diorka, will ride in a helicopter that will drop all of the numbered golf balls onto our turf field. The ball that lands closest to the flag will win $1,000 and the ball furthest from the flag will win $100. 🚁

Every dollar goes directly to merit and need-based scholarships. Whether you're sinking putts or dropping golf balls, you're investing in the future of our Mounties! Visit msjacad.org/support/golf-classic for more information on both of these events and registration!
