🚨🔥PEE DEE ICECATS NAME TOM CALLAHAN VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER🚨🔥
FLORENCE, S.C. – The P*e Dee IceCats are proud to announce the appointment of Tom Callahan as the organization's new Vice President and General Manager, effective immediately.
Callahan brings a wealth of hockey knowledge, leadership experience, and operational expertise to the IceCats front office. Throughout his career, he has been involved in numerous facets of the game, earning a reputation as a respected hockey professional with a deep understanding of team operations, player development, and organizational growth.
In his new role, Callahan will oversee all the business side of hockey operations, including corporate partnerships, media relations and strategic planning, while working closely with ownership and staff to continue building a championship-caliber organization off the ice.
"We are thrilled to welcome Tom into this leadership role with the P*e Dee IceCats," said Kevin Cuppia, President of the P*e Dee IceCats. "Tom's extensive hockey background, passion for the game, and proven leadership make him the ideal person to help guide our organization into its next chapter. His experience and vision will be invaluable as we continue building a first-class hockey operation for our players, partners, and fans."
Cuppia also emphasized the value Callahan has already brought to the organization through his connection with IceCats fans.
"One of the things our fans have come to appreciate is Tom's ability to connect with the game and communicate it so effectively from the broadcast booth," added Cuppia. "We're excited that he will continue serving as the Voice of the IceCats for the time being while taking on his new responsibilities as Vice President and General Manager. His unique perspective and passion for the sport make him a tremendous asset both behind the scenes and on game nights."
Callahan expressed his enthusiasm about an expanded role with the IceCats.
"I’m excited to put the knowledge, experience and information I’ve accumulated in my career to work for the IceCats franchise and fan base,” said Callahan. “The chance to build upon the incredible success of our inaugural season and see the team through its transition to the SPHL is something I am grateful to be tasked with, and can’t thank ownership enough for their trust in my experience and capabilities. I look forward to continuing to see the franchise grow and become an even bigger part of the P*e Dee.”
Callahan has worked at every level of professional hockey in the course of his 25-plus year career including a five-year stint as the radio voice of the Nashville Predators and the team’s Radio Network Manager. He has also worked on the management side of several teams and helped start up franchises in the AHL (Tucson Roadrunners) and UHL (Elmira Jackals). He joined the IceCats early in the 2025-26 season and solidified the franchise on the communications and broadcasting fronts.
Since its inception, the P*e Dee IceCats have remained committed to delivering an exciting brand of professional hockey while fostering strong community connections throughout the P*e Dee region. The expansion of Callahan's role and responsibilities represents another significant step forward in the organization's commitment to long-term success and stability.
