University of Oregon Triathlon Club

The UO Tri Team is committed to promoting the sport of triathlon at the University of Oregon. We are always looking for new members of all skill levels.

The triathlon team at UO consists of all types of triathletes. From recreational to racer we have them all. The team races multiple times throughout the year and also holds daily practices for everyone to join in. If you are a current student, alumni, or community member, please come out and join the team!

Introducing your 2022-2023 Team Captains!

Alex is a Senior majoring in Biology and this will be his 4th year on the team. His favorite leg in triathlon is the bike and his pre race hype songs are Bring Me to Life or Shake It.
His favorite part about being on the team is having people to train with and hold him accountable.

Maya is a junior majoring Political Science and this will be her second year on the team. Her favorite leg is the run and her pre-race hype song is Take You There by Sean Kingston. Her favorite part about being on the team is the competitive aspect of racing, as well as training with a very fun and supportive team!

Scott is a Senior majoring in Psychology and this will be his second year on the team. His favorite leg in triathlon is the bike and his pre-race hype song is Wants and Needs by Drake and a “healthy dose" of City Girls. His favorite part of being on the team is having the opportunity to train, travel, and hangout with great athletes and even better people.

Our last race of the school year and everyone killed it! Here are the highlights: in the sprint triathlon Scott got overall 2nd and age group first, Toby got age group 3rd, and Riley got age group 3rd. Grace got overall 2nd in the sprint aqua bike. In the olympic triathlon Alex got age group 1st, Jimmy got age group 2nd, and Maya got age group 1st. Mia got overall first in the Olympic aqua bike.

Fantastic race at Blue Lake for the Ducks, EVERYONE podiumed! Scott got age group 2nd in the Olympic, Toby got age group 1st in the Sprint, Jimmy got age group 2nd in the Sprint, and Grace, Riley, and Maya got overall first in the women’s sprint relay!

Our final senior spotlight goes to four year veteran and current captain, Jimmy! Jimmy has been a passionate addition to our team who constantly follows the sport as a whole and is always there to give you fun facts about professional triathletes and races around the world. He has shown great improvement through the last four years both physically and mentally. Jimmy is the type of person to run a marathon in their neighborhood because COVID cancelled the official one. It’ll be hard to find another person with the same drive that Jimmy has and he will be greatly missed on this team.
