Florence ISR 1st Response with Ashley King

Florence ISR 1st Response with Ashley King Aquatic Survival skills for children 6 months to 6 years of age. Thank you for your interest in Infant Swimming Resource. We do not offer group lessons.

ISR is the safest and ONLY provider of comprehensive swimming and aquatic self-rescue™ instruction. Our method of clinically researched instruction emphasizes developmentally appropriate skills training to ensure that your child is learning self-rescue skills and developing the competence required to enjoy the water. Integrated into the skills training of infants and young children is the ISR Pare

nt Education program that seeks to enable the parents and caretakers to understand drowning prevention methods and thereby, safeguard their child’s aquatic environment. Here are the Facts about ISR:
• ISR was founded in 1966 by Dr. Harvey Barnett with the guiding mission “to prevent drowning and enrich the lives of children by teaching them to swim” and to ensure that
Not One More Child Drowns.
• Since its creation, ISR has provided over 6 million safe and effective lessons to more than 160,000 children.
• This nationally recognized program is the first and only drowning prevention strategy that has earned a 100% safety record.
• ISR Certified Instructors are trained through an extensive 6-week course guided by a Master Instructor, during which time the Instructor is trained and tested in the academic areas of child psychology, behavioral science, physiology, and anatomy. In addition to gaining an academic foundation, Instructors engage in over 60 hours of hands on, in water practical application of the technique.
• The ISR National website is an award winning and nationally recognized site, providing information about water safety and aquatic self-rescue training for infants and young children, please visit www.infantswim.com for the complete ISR Story, as well as to view pictures and videos and read testimonials from parents and doctors. The ISR Lesson Experience:
ISR Lessons are available to infants and young children 6 months- 6 years old. These safe and effective lessons are customized to your child and taught one on one. Your child’s lesson experience will be unique and to provide the safest possible lesson, the instructor’s attention will be focused on your baby only throughout the lesson period. Lessons are no more than 10 minutes a day, 5 days a week, Monday through Friday. In order to master these self-rescue skills, the enrollment period is between 4 and 6 weeks. Your Certified ISR Instructor will provide instruction to your child that emphasizes developmentally appropriate skills training, health issues and considerations, ongoing program evaluations, and parent education. After the initial lesson experience is complete, ISR recommends that every child participate in 1 to 2 weeks of Refresher lessons every 6 months to a year. This will enable your child to learn how to adjust swimming and floating skills to their continually growing and developing bodies. Your Child’s Self-rescue Skills:
Infants (6 months- 12 months old) will learn to hold their breath underwater,
roll onto their back and float unassisted. This usually takes 4-5 weeks. Children (1 year- 6 years old) will learn the following sequence: how to hold their breath underwater; swim with their head down and eyes open; roll onto their back to float, rest, and breath; and roll back over to resume swimming until they reach the side of the pool and
can crawl out or be rescued by an adult. This usually takes 4-6 weeks. Since statistics show that 83% of all children who drown are fully clothed at the time, during the final week of lessons, while under the watchful eye of an instructor, each of our students have the opportunity to practice their self-rescue skills in both their summer and winter clothes. There is a $105. registration fee for each child. Lesson fees are $80. per week, and $70 per week each additional child. Thank you for contacting ISR and for making your child’s safety in and around the water a priority. For more information regarding Registration and Scheduling for classes, please contact me. I look forward to the opportunity to teach your infant or child the ISR self-rescue skills. Ashley King, ISR Instructor

🌊☀️ Holiday weekends are made for fun, family, and memory-making — but water safety should always come first! Whether you’re spending time at the pool, lake, beach, or backyard splash pad, staying alert can save a life.

💙 A few simple reminders can make a huge difference:
⭐️ Stay within arm’s reach of your child and always get IN the water with them
⭐️ Assign a dedicated “Water Watcher” in 15-minute shifts — phones down, eyes up
⭐️ Consider hiring a lifeguard for parties where water is present
⭐️ Keep tables, chairs, and toys away from pool fences to prevent climbing
⭐️ Double-check pool gates, latches, and door locks
⭐️ Remove floats and toys after swimming to avoid tempting little ones back to the water
⭐️ Dress children in bright-colored swimsuits for better visibility
⭐️ Stay hydrated and reapply sunscreen often
⭐️ Use only U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets on open water

✨ Most importantly — have a SAFE and happy holiday!
Together, we can help prevent drowning and keep our families safer both in and around the water. 💦

Water safety is important for every child—but for families with children on the autism spectrum, it’s especially critical.

💙 Did you know:
• Children with autism are 160 times more likely to drown than their peers
• Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for children with autism
• Nearly 70% of children with autism wander, often toward water
• Survival swim lessons can reduce drowning risk by up to 88%

Water can be incredibly आकर्षive to children, which makes layers of protection and proper swim skills life-saving—not optional.

At ISR 1st Response with Ashley King, we’re passionate about giving children the skills they need to survive in the water and give families peace of mind.

Let’s work together to keep our kids safer this season 💦

💛 Wear Bright. Be Seen. Stay Safe. 💛
Did you know that the color of your child’s swimsuit can make a BIG difference in the water? During Water Safety Month, it’s important to think beyond just swimming skills—visibility matters.
Bright, neon colors like orange, yellow, pink, and green are much easier to spot in and around the water. In an emergency, those few seconds it takes to see a child clearly can make all the difference.
🔍 Why bright colors?
• Easier for parents to keep eyes on their child
• Helps lifeguards respond faster
• More visible in pools, lakes, and open water
• Stands out against blue water and dark bottoms
Dark colors and blues can quickly blend into the water, making it harder to see a swimmer—even in a pool.
👶 At ISR lessons, we focus on building life-saving skills—but layers of protection matter. Visibility is one simple step you can take today to add another layer of safety.
✨ Small choice. Big impact.

May is Water Safety Month 💦

A great reminder that drowning is preventable when we use the 5 Layers of Protection:

• ISR Self-Rescue Lessons
• Constant Supervision
• CPR Knowledge
• Barriers (fences, gates, covers)
• Alarms

No single layer is enough—but together they help keep kids safer around water.

Want to add an important layer of protection? Enroll your child in ISR lessons with me and give them life-saving skills this summer 💙
