Our favorite time of the year is finally here! Season is open in Florida and Hawaii, and over the next month we will all be getting ready for the turkey woods! After a long day of chasing henned up gobblers, we finally made the right move when we circled around, cut this one off, mimicked his hen, and waited him out. The same hens that kept him out of range all day ended up leading him right to us at 5 PM and Mr. Don put a good shot on him to seal the deal.

These gentlemen came from Louisiana for opening weekend and doubled up on Osceola gobblers their first morning hunting with us. We had them gobbling back from the limb to one of our Osceola glass calls and about an hour later they came sprinting in to the decoys.

Our calls are bringing them in on a string again this spring! We set up on this old boy with a few soft yelps on one of our Osceola feather calls and some scratching in the leaves. 11 minutes later and he’s breaking through the timber into range for our hunter from Indiana.
