I AM FUMING. I paid $4,200 to have a plumber install this water heater and came home to what looks like a copper roller coaster strapped to a nuclear reactor. The pipes are sticking out in every direction, the brackets are barely holding it, and he had the audacity to tell me, “It’s all code compliant.” CODE COMPLIANT?? It looks like it’s going to explode at any second and the black pipe is hanging like it’s about to audition for a horror movie. Am I overreacting for thinking I should not have to babysit a $4,200 ticking time bomb?

To whoever designed whole-home humidifiers — why is the operating procedure basically “open the valve until the unit starts leaking, then back off slightly”?

This thing has exactly two settings:

1. no humidity
2. basement car wash

If I fully open the ball valve, water blasts through the humidifier hard enough to escape containment entirely. Half-open? Works perfectly `
