Chuck has a long career coaching high school baseball which started as the varsity baseball assistant coach at Corunna from 2004-2013. He has served as the Corunna varsity baseball coach since 2014, leading the Cavaliers to MHSAA District (2017 & 2021) and Regional Championships (2017) while notching over 150 career wins.

In 2016, he was named Genesee Area Conference Coach of the Year. In 2017 he was named MHSAA District & Regional Coach of the Year as well as Lansing State Journal Division 2 All-Area Coach of the Year. In 2021, he was MHSAA District Coach of the Year and coached in the Bruin Classic All-Star Game @ Mott CC & the North/South All- Star Game @ Dow Diamond. In 2023, Chuck was the Lansing State Journal Division 2 Coach of the Year after leading Corunna to a 25-6 season and a ranking among the top teams in the state.

Zach Hamlin pitching for our 18U Foutch Select team on Saturday against 810 Elite. Zach led Coach Berlin’s team to an 8-2 win while putting up some pretty impressive metrics/stats that included:
fb: 86-88 T90 mph
ch: 77-78
cb: 70-72
sl: 77-80
10Ks with 5 Ks looking105 BAA
67% strikes

On the year, “Hammy” has pitched 15 innings and has 30 K's with 19 K's looking. He’s a recent graduate of Davison High School who will be continuing his education at Jackson College where he’ll be a member of the Jets baseball ⚾️ team.

Braden Andrejack has continued to make play after play for our 18U Foutch Select (Coach Mike Berlin) team this summer.

The smooth fielding shortstop is a recent graduate of Corunna High School. He’ll be continuing his education at Alma College where he’ll be a member of the Scots baseball ⚾️ team.

We’re excited to announce 📣 that Chuck Osika (shown with his wife Candice and 18U Foutch Select player Logan Vowell) will be coaching our 13U Foutch Black Baseball ⚾️ team in 2025!

When asked about joining the Foutch family, Coach Osika had this to say, “As a coach, when the opportunity arises to be a member of a well known and respectable organization such as Foutch, you can not turn that down. At this point in my coaching career, it makes me feel good that others see the impact I have made not only on the game of baseball but on youth athletes in general. I am grateful for the chance that Roger Foutch has given me to be able to be part of this amazing coaching staff at Foutch.”

When asked about his plans for the 13U team, Coach Osika said, “Baseball is a hard game and at the 13U level we will be focusing on the "little" things that win baseball games. Fundamentals such as making routine plays, throwing strikes and good baserunning seems simple but are often overlooked. These are things that as a baseball team you need to be successful at in order to compete and win at a high level. Also, the opportunity, for me as a coach to make an impact on youth (younger than high school level) through the game of baseball is very exciting for me.”

Not only does Coach Osika bring more experience than most youth coaches, he has top notch assistant coaches joining him too. He said, “Duncan Gillett and Zach Sawyer both played for me at Corunna, Gillett was an outstanding pitcher from 2013-2016 and Sawyer was a standout infielder form 2014-2018. Both have a lot of experience at the high school and/or college level playing baseball. Gillett pitched at Lansing Community College and finished his baseball career at Davenport University (he is currently the pitching coach at Davison High School). Sawyer received and accepted a scholarship to play baseball at Cornerstone University before taking a different route. He is currently the assistant varsity baseball coach at Corunna, a position he has held for the last 4 years.”

Coach Osika said, “I Can't wait to get started. LET’S GO FOUTCH!!!”
