We opened the 2026-27 season with a new group of players, and we are still learning one another and figuring out what this team can become. Thankfully, yesterday we were joined by some players from our sister team, Foutch Acker 16U, which made for a great day of softball and, more importantly, a great opportunity to start building some chemistry.
The games didn’t go exactly how we hoped. We dropped the first two by a combined three runs, then had to sit for what felt like an eternity waiting for our next opportunity.
And that’s when something pretty cool happened. The ladies stayed loose. They hung out. They laughed. They made TikToks. They laughed some more. They simply enjoyed being around each other.
Then it was time to play again.
That camaraderie carried onto the field, and we saw some great performances at the plate and in the field. More importantly, we saw a group starting to come together.
There is a lot of softball ahead for this team, and I’m really looking forward to watching this group grow, compete and learn to play for one another.
