After yesterday's difficult announcement, many of you have reached out with genuine compassion, asking how y'all could support our former employees during this challenging time. While the company's future is now determined, I want to channel our communities' efforts into additional support for these great folks.

To that end, I've reopened our GoFundMe campaign to help provide some financial relief and hope to our valued team members who continue to face uncertainty and difficult transitions. Kiss today goodbye ...

To Our Valued Customers, Partners, and Community:

It is with deep sadness that Diamond Brand Gear Company must announce the permanent closure of our business, a direct result of the catastrophic damage sustained during Hurricane Helene on September 27, 2024. While we regret that we were not able to survive this disaster, we will never forget what we accomplished over the last 143 years. We will always be grateful for such great people and so many relationships. From customers to employees, to our community and to our partners, we will miss them all.

The unprecedented destruction caused by the hurricane rendered our facilities and critical infrastructure irreparably damaged. After careful assessment and consultation with insurance providers, shareholders, and our management team, we concluded that rebuilding and recovery are not financially viable.

Several weeks ago, we thought we might have a chance to come back albeit in a slightly different form. When we shared this plan with many of you, your responses were amazing. You inspired us to pursue financial support from our community. Our vendors worked directly with us to settle their accounts. Our customers promised to be patient and provide us with orders when we were ready to take them. We’re humbled and awed by your encouragement and generosity.

When we look back and reflect on what we were able to do over these many years, we can take comfort in the fact that we always did good work for our customers. We can also take comfort that in recent years, we stayed true to our big idea which was to inspire creativity, exploration, and personal growth. Now that we are closing, we invite you to help us promote these ideals in years to come and keep the spirit of Diamond Brand alive.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our customers, employees, and community who have supported us throughout our journey. The devastation caused by Hurricane Helene may have made continuation impossible, but the pride over what we accomplished together continues. Thank you all for allowing us to do what we loved to do, design and sew durable, sustainable and beautiful things.

It's not your typical Monday morning around here.

Over the weekend, Western North Carolina experienced an unprecedented, generational flood event causing catastrophic damage to countless families, businesses and entire towns in our region. Our factory was submerged under several feet of water as you can see here in the photo that was taken after our neighborhood creek receded.

Due to the significant damage at our facility, our factory will be closed for the foreseeable future as we assess the situation and ensure the safety of our employees. The well-being of our team and community is our top priority at this time. We understand the impact this will have on our operations and customers, and we appreciate your patience and support during this difficult time.

Our hearts go out to all of our family, friends, neighbors, partners and customers who were also affected, and we are holding them close in thought as we all navigate the challenges ahead.

We want to keep our spirits high so we may keep posting on social media and sending our newsletters "as normal", but please know that behind the scenes we are working tirelessly to get back to doing what we love—crafting the best tents on the market and serving the adventurers who inspire us daily.

Until then, please stay safe, take care of each other, and know that we will come through this more resilient, and grateful, than ever before. We are and together we will get through this and rebuild.💓

Happy National Public Lands Day!

Did you know that Diamond Brand helped establish the nation's first glamping site on U.S. Forest Service land?

It's true! In 2019 we provided twelve of our legendary canvas wall tents to , a National Forest Recreation Site and Campground outside of Asheville.

Today we honor the beauty and value of our nation's natural spaces, and the importance of preserving and protecting them for future generations.

Sustainability is about protecting and preserving resources for yourself, your community and your environment for the future. It should no longer be thought of as a luxury or a choice, but a fundamental requirement.

On this , we celebrate and honor the origins of the tent and the rich cultural heritage of indigenous communities.

The original designs of these early shelters were not only functional, but also symbolic- representing a harmonious connection with the land and a deep respect for nature.

At Diamond Brand, we strive to carry forward this legacy by creating tents that embody both tradition and innovation, rooted in sustainability and a similar appreciation for the natural world.

We are grateful for the contributions of Native Americans, as we wouldn't be the tentmakers we are today without their ingenuity, wisdom, resilience, and resourcefulness.
