Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine can be effective for regulating lipid levels, blood sugar and cholesterol with much lower risk of side effects that common pharmaceutical drugs
often have.

With several thousand years of clinical and observed efficacy,
as well as modern studies corroborating its use, perhaps acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine should be given first line status in treating these issues.
