Thank you Levan Machine and Truck Equipment for sponsoring the Golden Hammer Event at Shellhammer's Speedway. It was nice to race at the track we grew up racing at for the first time this year. Congratulations to all the feature winners. I think we all won surviving the hot weather.

Started the night out not handling well, then sweated it all out making changes as the night went on. Won one of the b mains. Started eighth ended up battling for third but John’s brakes went away and finished fourth in the 270 Micro sprint class.

We started the season off well! Thank you to all that help make it happen.

Our 125 car is the same as last year just gone over. We will be running that car the first few weeks of the season. By then our 270 and wingless 600 will be completed. The plan then is to concentrate on those two cars and visit more tracks in the area as opportunities present themselves.

All season long, John Maurer set the tone in the Gretna Graphics 125/4 Stroke division. From the drop of the first green flag, he proved he was the driver to beat. Out of 13 events, John claimed 7 victories, and when he didn’t win, he was always right there in the fight—never finishing worse than 5th.
