Big announcement!!!!!!

⚽️ Fall Soccer Season Is Here! ⚽️

As we get ready to kick off soccer, we also want to be mindful of something we can’t control here in Texas: the heat! 🥵

While Flatonia Youth Sports & Events is NOT a UIL organization, we take the safety of our athletes seriously. Our league has purchased a Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) tool to help us monitor the heat and humidity during practices and games.

Our school has also graciously provided us with the UIL heat index recommendations as a reference to help us make informed decisions when conditions are extreme.

These recommendations are NOT required by our league, but we believe that when it comes to our kids, being proactive is always the better choice ❤️

We will do our best to monitor the heat and make adjustments when necessary. Our goal is to let our kids play, have fun and compete while doing everything we can to keep them safe.

Parents, please help by making sure your athlete comes hydrated and prepared for the Texas heat. 💧

The heat may be part of Texas soccer, but keeping our kids safe will always come first. ⚽❤️

Fall Soccer Update ⚽

We apologize for the delay in getting the fall soccer groups posted. We wanted to make sure we had enough coaches in place for each group and take the time at our board meeting to go over rules, expectations, and details for the upcoming season.

We know everyone is ready to see those groups, and we appreciate your patience while we make sure everything is organized and set up for a great fall season!

GROUPS WILL BE MADE NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY!

Thank you for your understanding and support! ❤️⚽

☀️💧 Hydration Reminder from Flatonia Youth Sports & Events 💧☀️

With August temperatures in full swing, we want to remind families how important it is for kids to stay hydrated. While hydration is critical for young athletes, it's just as important for kids who aren't involved in sports.

Whether they're at school, playing outside, helping at home, or spending time with friends, their bodies need water to stay healthy, focused, and energized.

Our schools do a great job allowing students to bring water bottles, so let's encourage our kids to take advantage of that and drink water whenever they have the opportunity throughout the day.

Signs of dehydration can include:
💧 Headaches
💧 Dizziness
💧 Fatigue
💧 Difficulty concentrating

A little extra water can go a long way in helping our kids feel their best during these hot Texas days.

Stay safe, stay cool, and stay hydrated, Flatonia! ❤️
