This past Saturday at Flat Rock Speedway Don Lane Jr. drove the black #24 and Regan Sr. was behind the wheel of the #99. Don made the B-main exciting as he battled for the lead and ended up finishing P2. Regan Sr. qualified 5th and started on the pole but ended up finishing 2nd as well.

Wasn’t much of a battle for lead in the A-main as my ole buddy Steve Cronenwett Jr., starting on my outside, had me and the rest of the field covered.

With Regan Jr. unable to race the #99 due to a scheduled event he attended, I decided to try a new set up on the #99 hoping to help the car turn better on entry. It worked, only a little too good as I battled a loose car all day.

But fun was had by all. We didn’t tear anything up and both of us got p2. Congrats to Stevie Jr. and the Cronenwett family on the win. It had been a long time since I was cleared on the outside in open traffic for the lead. I had to think back to 2000 my rookie year in late models when Rick Knowles and I started on the front row and battled for 35 laps.

Thank you to the whole Dan Ford Racing team, Dan Ford Sr., Dan Jr., Don Jr., Dave Jessie, Tom
and my new buddy Steve!

We will be back with the #99 next week for the last race of the year with Regan Jr. back behind the wheel.

It’s Championship night Flat Rock Speedway this Saturday. Regan Jr. has an event he has to attend so he won’t be driving this week. So Regan Sr. will be be back behind the wheel of the #99 for the first time in a year or two. Donald Lane Jr. will be back behind the wheel of the black #24 as well. We are hoping to have some fun. Made a few changes on the #99 so we will see if she’s fast or slow! Come on for some good short track racing.

Saturday night was shaping up to be a good night. The #99 with Regan Jr. was quick in practice and 4th quickest in qualifying, Jr. laid down a lap of 12:9 which was the quickest we’ve gone since before our big wreck in the summer. Regan Jr. started outside row 3 and the top line got taken back, and we lost some spots before we were able to get down. Jr. has been trying to be more patient as of late but we came up on some lap traffic and ended up getting taken out by another car ending our night with about 5 laps left. We’ve had a lot of flat tires and wrecks this season, some our fault, some not. We are hoping to end the season on a high note since we got the car pretty quick again

My ole friend and crew chief Don Lane Jr. made his return behind the wheel of the #24 for the first time in 25 years. He did great all day, stayed out of trouble and even won his heat race. He had a good chance to win the B-main but our bad luck continued as Don picked up a screw and flattened the RF tire ending his feature run even before it began.

We will be back this weekend

Thank you to our crew Don Lane Jr., Dan Ford Jr., Dan Ford Sr., Dave Jessie and Tom

Another exciting night of racing at Flat Rock Speedway. Regan Ford Jr. in the #99 was quick in practice and qualified 3rd. Which was our best effort since our wreck back in the summer. We started outside row 2 for the feature event. The car was very fast at the start of the race but once again bad luck struck. On lap 4 while running the outside our left front made slight contact with another car and put a hole in the sidewall of our LF tire. It went instantly flat and Regan Jr. brushed the outside wall ending our night. Car isn’t tore up except for a bent rim and an upper A-arm. Despite the finish we were pleased with the speed in the car. It hadn’t handled that good since before our accident.

I’d like to thank our Dan Ford Racing team; Don Lane Jr., Dan Ford Sr., and of course my brother Dan Jr.

This past Saturday was the biggest Street Stock race of the year at Flat Rock Speedway, The Detroit 100 Lapper. Regan Ford Jr. was behind the wheel of his #99 and Regan Sr. drove the #24.

The #99 has been struggling with handling issues since our big crash more than a month ago. Regan Jr. was off pace in practice but managed to pull off a decent lap in qualifying securing a spot in the inversion. He started 5th in the race. Crew chief Don Lane Jr. and with some help from my brother Dan Jr. worked all day long on the car. The #99 was much better in the feature event. He started off a little tight but the car came to him midway thru the race as Regan Jr. drove up thru the field to finish p5. Overall we were happy with the improvements and look forward to making the car even better

As for the old man in #24, I had a hell of a night! lol. It was my first race back
In the #24 since our crash a few weeks ago in the 50 lapper. The car handled pretty well in practice but something wasn’t quite right in the front end as the car had a chatter from the center out. I qualified 8th, drew the pole position for the feature. Started the race and led the first 15-17 laps before I got moved by the eventual race winner. Things went downhill from there as I had a slow leaking RF tire that caused us to slow considerably. I waited for a caution, started in the back, got into a few fender benders and ended up 10th.

Thank you to the entire Dan Ford Racing team, Dan Sr., Don Lane Jr., Dan Ford Jr., Tom, Dave Jessie.

Well I won’t sugarcoat it. Saturday night was a rough night for the Dan Ford Racing Team. We unloaded slow, and stayed slow. Last few weeks the #99 has lost its handling. Regan Jr. managed to salvage a top 10 last night and keep a very Ill- handling car out of trouble. Apologies to Regan Jr., he deserves a better racecar than the junk we have been giving him to drive. The responsibility falls on me. The good news is we will not quit until we get back to form.

I cannot thank Don Lane Jr., my dad, my brother and all the boys on the team for all their effort. I’d also like to thank Jimmy Thiel and Darrel for coming over and helping us piece the #24 back together for the 100 lapper next week.

Well the fireworks were on display both during and after then race this past Saturday night Flat Rock Speedway!

Regan Jr. in the #99 struggled with handling for most of the day. But Don Lane Jr. and Regan Jr. worked on it all day and got it a little better for the feature. Regan Jr. started 16th in the 50 lap street stock main event. He drove aggressively when needed and showed patience when needed, as he took the #99 up thru the field to finish in the top 5 in the main event. Very proud of him and the whole team for keeping their cool and working all night to salvage a good finish.

My dad, Dan Ford Sr., had my black #24 car fast all day. We qualified my personal best of 12:95. We started 9th in the feature and was having a pretty good race for the first 15 laps, driving up to 4th on the outside. After a restart on about lap 15, I ended up putting the car in the outside wall trying to avoid a spinning car in front of me. The car is tore up pretty good but nothing that can’t be fixed. Just a racing deal.
