This past Saturday at Flat Rock Speedway Don Lane Jr. drove the black #24 and Regan Sr. was behind the wheel of the #99. Don made the B-main exciting as he battled for the lead and ended up finishing P2. Regan Sr. qualified 5th and started on the pole but ended up finishing 2nd as well.
Wasn’t much of a battle for lead in the A-main as my ole buddy Steve Cronenwett Jr., starting on my outside, had me and the rest of the field covered.
With Regan Jr. unable to race the #99 due to a scheduled event he attended, I decided to try a new set up on the #99 hoping to help the car turn better on entry. It worked, only a little too good as I battled a loose car all day.
But fun was had by all. We didn’t tear anything up and both of us got p2. Congrats to Stevie Jr. and the Cronenwett family on the win. It had been a long time since I was cleared on the outside in open traffic for the lead. I had to think back to 2000 my rookie year in late models when Rick Knowles and I started on the front row and battled for 35 laps.
Thank you to the whole Dan Ford Racing team, Dan Ford Sr., Dan Jr., Don Jr., Dave Jessie, Tom
and my new buddy Steve!
We will be back with the #99 next week for the last race of the year with Regan Jr. back behind the wheel.
