Join us Friday, May 29 and Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Blue Ridge Community College in Flat Rock, NC for a weekend of traditional Okinawan karate training, fellowship, and learning.

• Friday registration begins at 3:00 PM, classes start at 4:00 PM
• Saturday registration begins at 8:00 AM, classes begin at 9:00 AM

Beginner Introduction to Okinawan Karate:

There were so many great adventures and opportunities to meet new friends. The training at the Shōrin-ryū Seibukan Dojo with Zenpo Shimabukuro Sensei and Zenshun Shimabukuro Sensei was truly an honor and an unforgettable experience. We left inspired, filled with new knowledge, and with amazing memories we will cherish for years to come!

Akamine Sensei was very gracious to share his time and knowledge with us. We appreciate all the coordination and work that Tim Jurgens put into this experience. I think the entire group on this trip all feel blessed and grateful for the opportunity to train together! Thank you!!

The Okinawan people are always so kind and generous…it is our favorite place to go and visit. It always feels like our home away from home and the more time we spend there and the more people we meet, the stronger our connection becomes!
