Max earned his blue belt under Royce Gracie in 1998 at 150lbs. In 1999 he found his way to Graci

e Barra, training under the Legendary Eduardo De Lima (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eduardo_de_Lima). Training for 10 years directly under Professor De Lima in Clearwater, FL, he has participated in the Pan American Games as a blue, purple, brown and black belt. His training also included 1 year under the phenom Jay Valko, valkobjj.com, located in downtown Chicago.
