GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN UPDATE

“National parks remain as accessible as possible during the federal government shutdown.”

Private river trips are launching as scheduled from Lee’s Ferry. Exchanges can take place via Pipe Creek.

Though the federal government shutdown officially began at 9 p.m. on Tuesday night, the Grand Canyon National Park remains open with some services limited or unavailable for the time being.

The 2026 Main Lottery is now open and will be accepting applications for calendar year 2026 Grand Canyon Noncommercial River Trip launch dates until Tue, February 25, 2025 at 12:00 PM (noon) Mountain Standard Time.  Applications can be submitted through the weighted lottery website (link in bio).
