Hey everyone!
It's a new school year, and with a new year comes a new team (and this year, new coaches)! Since the stress of the first week has passed we are gearing up for open classes and auditions, so if you want to come join the coolest club on campus keep reading!
Open classes will take place on the following dates and times, with Hip Hop from 8-9:30 pm and Jazz from 9:30-11 pm:
Tuesday, September 6th
Thursday, September 8th
Tuesday, September 13th
During these classes, we will do group warm-up and stretch, possibly some conditioning and technique, and learn a combo. This is a great opportunity to come check out the club before auditions and meet some new people, as well as get used to dancing at a high altitude!
Our auditions will take place on the following dates:
Hip Hop Auditions - Thursday, September 15th, 8:00-11:00 pm
Jazz Auditions - Friday, September 16th, 5:00-8:00 pm
(Please note that auditions may be longer than the specified time depending on number of people auditioning)
At auditions, we will warm-up and stretch as a group, do technique/across the floor, and teach a combo which you will audition with in small groups. You do not need to prepare a piece yourself, but be aware that you will probably be asked to improv either before or after the choreographed combo. We are also asking everyone to wear black for auditions, please to your best to comply.
All open classes and auditions will be at Rolle Activity Center on South Campus in Room 103. Unfortunately the floor is carpeted, so we suggest bringing some sort of dance shoe or socks for those of you who are coming for Jazz.
We are so excited to welcome back our returning members as well as bring some new faces onto the team! Hope to see you all at open classes!
