The Service Dog Project Mission Statement:

Service Dog Project’s main mission is to breed, raise, train, and donate certified service dogs to people who experience difficulty with their balance or mobility. These partnerships often help to enhance the recipient’s quality of life as they attain greater independence. Preference is given to military veterans, first responders and their families.

Our second mission is to serve our local community. SDP’s farm is a destination for all ages — from teens doing community service, to seniors in search of a meaningful task and social interaction, to military veterans (many with PTSD) who enjoy feeling useful and connected while doing farm chores.

Our Road Show project of dogs and trainers visiting senior centers provides much-needed smiles and comfort.

We are excited to announce this partnership. When we first opened Disc Golf 978 we wanted to promote the importance of health and nutrition to the athletes of the sport. DGPM group is giving us that opportunity.

In the words of Bob Kulchuk, there is nothing more iconic then New England Disc Golf at an apple orchard in the fall! We are so excited to be partnering with Meadowbrook Orchard to bring you the Inaugural Jeffrey Cranson Memorial Tournament.

The course will be open for play starting tomorrow. You can find the course map can be found in UDISC! It is a pay to play course at $5 a round. Enjoy and we hope you love the property as much as we do!

Inaugural Jeffrey Cranson Disc Golf Tournament Pro Day is a PDGA-sanctioned disc golf tournament in Sterling, Massachusetts beginning October 30, 2021 and hosted by Disc Golf 978.

Early registration starts August 27, 2021 at 8pm EST
Regular registration starts August 31, 2021 at 8pm EST

You will not want to miss this one. This tournament will be located on the property of the Meadowbrook orchards in Sterling MA. It will have baskets provided by Fly By Disc Golf and will be set up a week or two before the event. Huge thank you to for the design of this course.

The added cash to the Pro field will be a minimum of $1500.00. We will also be adding some to the Am field as well. This will also be a NEFA event!

Every registration fee includes a ticket to the BBQ that will be happening at the end of the second round each day! All participants will receive a tournament shirt and amateurs will receive a players pack that will consist of a tournament shirt and a tournament stamped disc. Tournament discs will also be available for purchase.

Early registration fee will be $25.00. This fee will get you early registration, pick your starting hole for round 1 (on Pro day, hole 1 cannot be choosing due to feature card being filmed), and your name will be on the tournament banner that will be located at tournament central.

We have only a couple of business hole sponsors left so if you know of a business that would like to advertise, have them contact us.
