Congratulations to Heidi Zahnleuter for receiving the 2024 Owen O’Hanlon Best Groom Award for dedication, ability, and knowledge.
Heidi is a skilled and hard-working polo groom (not to mention a talented polo player too!) She stays calm under pressure, stays one step ahead of the action, and always treats our hard-working ponies with kindness and compassion.

Congratulations to Callie Toms for receiving the 2024 Billy Linfoot Most Improved Club Player Award for athletic improvement and sportsmanship on and off the polo field.
Callie is such a fun, positive teammate to play with, and is always eager to learn and improve as a polo player - and she has!

Congratulations to Lindsey Samuelsen for receiving the 2024 Clint Nangle Award for excellence in equine welfare.
Lindsey received numerous nominations for this award, and it is so well-deserved. She always prioritizes the welfare of her equine teammates, and goes above and beyond to treat every horse like they are her own.

It’s time to announce the USPA club award recipients for Madison Polo Club’s 2024 season!
First, congratulations to Chili for receiving the 2024 Club Pony of the Year Award. This award is for a pony that has gone above and beyond for their club, and we can think of no better example than Chili.
Chili is owned by the Polo Club of UW Madison. She has had a long and successful polo career, and is now a favorite mount of many Madison area players. She can easily switch gears from arena to grass, or from steadily taking care of new players and riders to turning up the intensity for faster chukkers.
Thank you Chili, for always giving it your all!
