🥎 ⛈️ 10U Storm | 2026 Season Recap from Coach Carisa Marcucci-Bachand
What a season.
From the very first practice to our final out, this group grew in every possible way. Yes, they got better at softball, but what made this team special was who they became. They celebrated each other's successes, picked each other up after mistakes, and built a bond that turned teammates into family. They showed up ready to work, embraced every challenge, played with confidence, and never backed down. They brought the fire every single day and never stopped believing in one another.
Every single player brought something special to this team...
Piper – Piper embraced learning a new position this season and attacked every ball that came her way. Her willingness to learn and compete never wavered, and she got better every single week.
Mya– Nobody has a first baseman's back quite like Mya. Whether it was backing up first or doing the little things that don't always make the highlight reel, she was always exactly where her team needed her.
Makayla – If we needed a bunt, Makayla was our girl. Time and time again she came through with clutch bunts and was always willing to do whatever the team needed to help us succeed.
London – Watching London conquer her fears this season was one of my favorite parts of coaching. Seeing her confidence grow week after week and watching her believe in herself more and more was something truly special.
Brae – I've never seen a kid champion her teammates quite like Brae. The way she celebrated everyone else's successes was amazing to watch and a huge part of what made this team so special.
Alexia – Fierce competitor. Constant smile. Alexia somehow managed to play the game with intensity while still having the time of her life. She brought confidence and grit every time she stepped on the field.
Vera – Vera is one fierce competitor. The way she composes herself on the mound and around the field is well beyond her years. She stays calm under pressure, competes with confidence, and is always ready for the next challenge.
Eve – Eve's enthusiasm for softball is contagious. Her love for the game and positive attitude are impossible to miss, and you can feel her excitement every time she steps on the field. Her teammates feed off of it!
And to our four girls aging up...
Kavya – Kavya improved so much over the course of this season, and it was incredible to watch. This kid can absolutely rope a softball, but even more importantly, she's an outstanding teammate and an even better person. Coaching her has been an absolute privilege.
Ellie – Ellie turned first base into her own highlight reel. Stretch after stretch, scoop after scoop, she made difficult plays look routine and gave her teammates the confidence to make every throw.
Lily – Lily became the leader of our outfield and came through in some huge moments this season. She plays with confidence, swings it well, and is someone her teammates can always count on.
Anna – The heartbeat of our defense. Anna handled our pitching staff with confidence, led from behind the plate, and somehow survived spending nearly the entire summer in a catcher's squat. Tough doesn't even begin to describe her.
To my fellow coaches...thank you. I know I ask a million questions, overthink just about everything, and occasionally operate at a volume that probably isn't necessary. Thank you for answering every random thought, rolling with my organized chaos, and loving these girls as much as I do. I'm incredibly lucky to coach alongside such an amazing group of people, and this season wouldn't have been the same without every one of you.
The future is incredibly bright for this group, and I can't wait to see where this game takes them. If this season taught them anything it’s to keep the fire lit…and always be a DOG!
