Daniel Lee:
"Bruce Lee had a great deal of knowledge on many different kinds of martial arts, but he didn't consider that every art was of equal value. Each had different techniques, and you would be too loaded with information to use any of them effectively. I mean, that's what Bruce liberated us from. In my previous training, I had at least one hundred different ways of dealing with a right punch. I had such a repetoire that, when a right punch finally came, I was going,"hmmm", which one should I use?" and "BOOM!", the punch would land already. So Bruce said,"Simplicity...not adding on, but refining so that your reaction is instantaneous. Maybe you only have two or three techniques, but they're good. As opposed to a bag full of them. Use them effectively." And that's what he taught us, what the best techniques were for us, as individuals to have in our arsenal."
