Fishkill Baptist Church is hosting a NCFCA homeschool speech and debate tournament THIS week from February 18-20, 2026. Since it’s a regional qualifier, there are 125+ students participating. We have a great need for more community volunteers to serve as judges. We are hopeful that you would take a block of your time and come and judge a round or two. It’s easy to do as you’re really just giving feedback, and they provide whatever training is necessary before you judge.

We do understand how valuable your time is and wouldn’t be asking to you volunteer in this way if we didn’t think it was worth your time. It takes about 3 hours for 1 round of speech or debate, and you can choose what you want to judge. There are rounds beginning as early as 8am and the latest starting at 7pm. Would you consider judging a round of speech or debate for this event and support the greater homeschool community?

Hello Thrive Players, Families, and Fans!

Today is Day 1 of the East Coast Homeschool Nationals Volleyball Tournament in Gatlinburg, TN! Our varsity volleyball team is playing today at 10:45 and 3:45. We will post videos of our matches on our YouTube channel (and hopefully livestream - TBD).

Thanks to all who have encouraged, supported, and cheered for the ladies this fall and in the past! They have worked hard and are playing so well both individually and as a team. We are excited for the opportunity to compete against teams from across the country as we represent Thrive and NY in this tournament.

Please pray that God would protect our team from illness and injury, that He would help us play our best as a team in each match, and above all that He would work through us as we seek to represent Jesus well throughout the competition. Go Thunder!!! (It might be fitting that this photo was literally taken in the clouds yesterday at Great Smoky Mountain National Park!)

SATURDAY SOCCER UPDATE: We’re excited to combine our two soccer sessions this season! This means our coaches can be even more engaged, families with kids in different groups have an easier schedule, and players get to enjoy the fun of practicing with a larger group. Each child will still receive plenty of personal attention while benefiting from the energy of a fuller session.
