I get asked by a lot of customers: “where do you get all your inventory?”
Well, one way is from my customers. I occasionally get requests on Marketplace if I can buy or give trade in credit for their unused gym equipment, and the answer is: yes. And I always tell them, I can make you an offer, but it will likely be less than if you have the patience to take the time to take some good pictures, list them all separately, and field responses to “Is this available?” for at least a few weeks.
Some customers value their time more than the extra few bucks they can get with a little time. For those people, all they have to do is send me some unstaged pictures. For weights, I generally just need total pounds and material.
Then I can send them back an offer, which they can take, leave or reach out in the future if they need something gone sooner.
I had a guy reach out last week, with the offer to trade in his Xterra cycle, Sunny row machine, new in box power rack, and a dumbbell rack. I gave him my offer, he accepted and he had his space empty the same day and had Eisner great new equipment in his truck the same day. No waiting around hours for four separate buyers to get his stuff and then driving around town looking for the best deals on used equipment.
