We love a customer who's willing to try it themselves. And we're always happy to help when it doesn't go as planned.

This Mizuno GPSL 1250F4 arrived at our shop completely disassembled. The owner had set out to relace it on their own, got the old laces out, and then realized the next part was a lot trickier than it looked. It happens more often than you'd think!

We took it from a pile of parts back to a complete glove with a full relace in Carolina Blue laces from Fastpitch Gloves.

I asked my son to explain what I do. 😂🧤

Turns out, a glove restoration sounds a lot simpler when you're the one watching. "Taking out the laces… and um, he's going fast." Honestly? He's not wrong.

This Mizuno GXC 90B3 catcher's mitt came in worn and dirty, with tired tan laces. Every lace came out, the leather got a deep, foamy cleaning, and our homemade leather conditioner brought it back to life. Then it got a full relace in Carolina Blue laces from our friends at Fastpitch Gloves, and in the words of our newest narrator, "it looks cool."

Throwback Thursday ⚾

A white glove looks incredible the day it comes out of the box. After a season or two of dirt, sweat and infield dust, it can look like a completely different glove. Every one of these came to our bench dingy, gray and tired.

This week we're looking back at some of our favorite white glove restorations. Each one got a deep, careful cleaning to lift out the grime without damaging the leather, our homemade conditioner to keep it soft, and a full relace in a color that makes the white pop. Same glove. You'd never guess where it started.

This Rawlings GGEFP130BW came in with worn-out laces and years of dirt worked into the leather. So we took it all the way down: every lace out, a deep clean from the palm to the thumb, conditioning, and then we went bold with a full relace in bright orange.

The laces came from our friends at Fastpitch Gloves, and they make this black leather pop.

Some gloves have been around longer than most of the players who walk into our shop.

This Yale Mays Model F401 dates back to the late 1950s. More than sixty years later, it still had plenty of life left in the leather; it just needed the right care. We gave it a careful cleaning, reconditioned it with our homemade leather conditioner, and completed a full relace with Vintage Chestnut lace from Fastpitch Gloves to keep the look true to its era.

Gloves like this are pieces of baseball history, and we treat them that way.

Mold doesn't have to be the end of a glove's story.

This Nokona AMG-175 came to us with mold on the leather. Rather than rush it, we took a careful approach: a thorough cleaning, mold mitigation, and then multiple light layers of our homemade leather conditioner. Small, steady layers let the leather recover instead of overwhelming it. We finished it with a full relace in Bean Cherokee laces from Fastpitch Gloves.

A glove stored in a damp garage or a forgotten bag can still be saved if it's handled the right way.

All black everything, with a splash of royal. 💙

This Wilson A2000 CK22 showed up looking tired. The black leather had gone dull and gray, the laces were dry and breaking down, and the glove had lost the crisp shape it was built with.

We went to work with a deep cleaning, then reconditioned the leather with our homemade conditioner to bring back that rich, deep black. To finish it off, we gave it a full relace in Royal Blue laces from Buy Fastpitch Gloves ( Fastpitch Gloves). The contrast against the black leather speaks for itself.

A glove like this is built to last for years. Sometimes it just needs a little help getting there.

Same glove. Brand-new web. 🔄⚾

This Wilson A2000 B23 came to us in great shape, with a black shell, sky-blue trim and plenty of life left in the leather. But its player wanted a different look in the web, and a glove that was ready to play the moment it came home.

So we pulled every lace tying the original web into the thumb and index finger and took it out. In its place went a brand-new Modified Trap-eze web from Cumberland Leather ( Leather), laced in black with laces from Buy Fastpitch Gloves ( Fastpitch Gloves) so it ties right into the shell. Every lace was pulled tight to lock the web in and keep the pocket deep. To finish, it got our 60-minute game-ready break-in.

Throwback Thursday ⚾

No glove on the field takes a beating like a catcher's mitt. Pitch after pitch, inning after inning, season after season, it absorbs everything. By the time these mitts reached our bench, most of them were dry, flattened and held together by worn-out laces.

This week we're looking back at some of our favorite catcher's mitt restorations. Every one got a deep cleaning, our homemade conditioner, and a full relace to restore its shape, its structure and the confidence a catcher needs behind the plate. This custom 44 Pro V-Web came in ready for a refresh, and it's one of the boldest builds we've had on the bench. Royal blue and orange with a snakeskin textured shell, this glove was made to stand out. After plenty of time on the field, it was due for fresh laces, and that textured leather had picked up dirt in every groove.

We pulled every lace, from the fingertips through the heel and up the V-Web. Then we gave the shell a careful deep clean, working the snakeskin texture gently so it kept its character, and followed it with our homemade leather conditioner to put back the moisture the cleaning pulls out. To finish, we did a full relace with fresh royal blue laces from Fastpitch Gloves, pulled tight through every finger and the web.
