I've always been careful about posting young children on my professional page, usually doing so only if I know the parents are okay with it or it's a fast time at the show. This has been my personal policy since I started in 2016.
But in light of the recent ruling regarding AI creating and misusing children's likeness for inappropriate content, if I've posted your child in photos or videos and you'd like them removed from my social media please reach out. I have, and always will, value child safety over social media clicks.
Moving forward, you likely won't see many photos/videos of young children on here. My plan, if I do post them, will be in a way that doesn't show faces. This breaks my heart because I believe there's so much value in showing off the up-and-coming barrel racers and their growth over the years. Not for social media views, but for genuine connection between generations of racers.
If you're concerned about your child's photos being on my galleries online, those are safe from AI usage unless YOU upload purchased photos into an AI like ChatGPT or Meta AI. My gallery host completely blocks generative AI crawlers from using photos in galleries.
This post isn't to scare anyone, but to inform. Just like my obnoxious watermark is there to protect against the few who steal, this policy is to protect our children... just in case 🫶🏼
