Ferrum College Clay Target Club

Ferrum College Clay Target Club CTC is one of the many clubs at Ferrum. We host weekly practices at Summit Springs where students and faculty are able to shoot 12g shotgun.

We also participate in competitions. We are working to grow our club by hosting a high school recruitment shoot.

This past weekend (Feb 23 and 24), the club was able to compete in the VT Own the Trophy Collegiate Competition with six shooters. We shot 300 rounds total- 100 sporting clays, 50 s***t, 50 super sporting, 50 doubles s***t, and 50 5-stand. The weather Saturday was cold, wet, and windy. Sunday was warmer but even windier. All shooters hit just over 50%. Way to go!

*Senior, Environmental Studies major with minors in Environmental Science and Ecotourism
*My dad is the reason that I am so into shooting. He taught me at a young age how to shoot and why I need to appreciate fi****ms. When I got to Ferrum, a friend told me about the club. I went to the interest meeting and was hooked. This is my 5th semester as a club member and it is by far my favorite activity. The people you meet are amazing and shooting is so much fun. The recruitment shoot that we are hosting is my special project and I can't wait to see it be successful.
