Ferrum College Equestrian

Ferrum College Equestrian IHSA Team focused on rider development and horsemanship. The Equestrian Club will be open to Ferrum horse enthusiasts with all levels of experience.

The Equestrian club is an organization created for students who are interested in riding horses and want to enhance and improve their riding skills. We hope to have a show team by fall of 2014 that will compete on the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Circuit with about 3-5 shows per semester. No riding experience is necessary, however, tryouts are held for the show team. Those who are not in

terested in competing can still be a part of the club and participate in riding. The Equestrian Club will be riding out of Healing Strides in Boones Mill, VA. Healing Strides offers a covered and outdoor arena. They have a great group of schooling horses that will be available for the clubs use. Saddles and equipment will be provided. The lessons that will be taught to club members will be Hunter/Jumper based lessons with a focus on Equitation. www.healingstridesofva.org

Such a great end to our 2025-2026 IHSA Season! We had the opportunity to honor our senior Abby McGuire who also won most improved rider for our region. Our regional riders had great draws today and showed up beautifully in a very competitive region!!
