“Elijah was afraid and fled for his life. He went to Beersheba, a town in Judah, and he left his servant there. Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. ‘I have had enough, LORD,’ he said. ‘Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died’” (1 Kings 19:3-4 NLT).

Everyone goes through times where their emotional tanks are empty—even great heroes of the Bible.
Consider the experience of Elijah, one of the most important prophets in the history of Israel. After a highlight of his ministry—he went toe-to-toe with a pagan prophet and won—he got a death threat from the queen and began a downward spiral of emotional exhaustion.

First Kings 19:3-4 describes what Elijah did next.

Elijah’s experience gives us 10 indications of emotional exhaustion. Keep your eyes open for these issues in your own life and the lives of people around you.

Here are 10 signs of emotional exhaustion from this part of Elijah’s life.

-Fear creeps into your life.
-You find yourself running away from things.
-You back out of relationships.
-You make foolish decisions impulsively.
-You push yourself past your physical limits.
-Your work seems pointless.
-You complain that you want to quit and give up.
-You feel isolated and attacked.
-You compare yourself to others and feel bad about yourself.
-You think death might bring relief.

If you see some of these characteristics in your life right now, you’re likely emotionally exhausted or experiencing burnout. You may even be depressed.
So, what do you do if you realize you’re emotionally exhausted?

When Elijah faced that experience, God led him to do three things that helped him recover—and they’re things that can help you recover, too, when you’re at the end of your rope.

1-Rest your body. In the world’s most famous psalm, the Bible says of God, “He makes me lie down in green pastures” (Psalm 23:2 NIV). Sometimes God must make you lie down because you’re unwilling to do it on your own. You can’t be spiritually and emotionally strong while you’re physically depleted.
That’s what happened to Elijah. God did not scold Elijah. God didn’t say, “Come on, man. You’re just having a pity party.” He simply let Elijah sleep. The Bible says about Elijah in 1 Kings 19:5, “Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep” (NIV).

Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do when you’re emotionally exhausted is to take a nap.

2-Release your frustrations. Revealing your feeling is the beginning of healing. In 1 Kings 19:10, Elijah says this to God: “I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too” (NIV).

Elijah didn’t hold anything back. He didn’t filter his feelings. He told God his frustrations.

Here’s the point you can’t miss about this verse. God isn’t shocked when you complain to him. He’ll listen to you until you run out of words. Let them all out. God can handle anything you throw at him.

3-Remember and refocus on God. When you’re emotionally exhausted and nearing burnout, you need to remember what God says and who he is. When we do that, we shift our eyes away from our problem and toward Jesus. We get a fresh awareness of God’s power and God’s presence and God’s personality. We need to see that far more than we need to see our problems.

In 1 Kings 19:11-13, God demonstrated his power firsthand to Elijah. The Lord showed him who was in control. When you’re struggling through burnout, it’s often because you’re trying to play God and control everything. When you refocus on God, you realize he is in control. You can stop exerting your own control.

Have a blessed day.

Do you show EMPATHY?

“We must bear the ‘burden’ of being considerate of the doubts and fears of others” (Romans 15:2b TLB).

Listening is probably the most important skill in building friendships and relationships, because you can’t love people without listening to them.
There’s a big difference between hearing and listening. You can hear something and not really be listening. I can’t tell you how many arguments I’ve had with my kids or my wife because I was listening to the words instead of the emotions. Or I FELT, my Wife or kids didn’t care to ask , “what’s wrong?” As they watched me wrestle with a situation . I wouldn’t verbalize my emotion. Sometimes the words don’t even matter. Somebody can say to you, “I’m fine,” but the way they say it tells you they’re not fine. Listening means you also hear what the person isn’t saying. This Small act can mean the WORLD to someone struggling.

That’s called empathy. Empathy means to put yourself in the other person’s shoes and learn their point of view. You ask yourself, “How would I feel if I were in that situation?”

Listening with empathy means you listen without interruption and you listen for fears and feelings. You listen for what they aren’t saying. You’re not trying to fix the situation. Sometimes healing comes just by listening!

Romans 15:2 says, “We must bear the ‘burden’ of being considerate of the doubts and fears of others” (TLB).

What does it mean to be considerate or to bear the burden of a doubt of others? It means that when people are in so much pain and hurting so badly that they don’t even know what they believe, they need the devotion of a loyal friend—someone who will be present and listen with empathy.

May God allow you to be more Empathic to your Family first.
In Jesus name Amen.

Peace be with you.

“Teach me, LORD, what you want me to do, and lead me along a safe path” (Psalm 27:11 GNT).

It may seem obvious, but one thing that can keep you from knowing God’s will is not asking him about it. James 4:2 says, “You do not have, because you do not ask” (ESV). God knows the details of your life more than you do. So engage your “guidance counselor” by asking specific questions. He will guide you through your circumstances and feelings.

Think about it: You don’t just have the guidebook, the Bible. You also have the author speaking in your ear. When you became a believer, God placed the Holy Spirit within you, and he’s been teaching you ever since to listen and respond to the Holy Spirit’s counsel. He knows every step of the journey and understands the blessings and dangers ahead. He knows where you’ve been and where you’re going, and he knows the best path to take.

The primary way the Holy Spirit guides you is by reminding you what you’ve read in the Bible. That’s why we memorize Scripture. It stores his Word in our minds, and the Holy Spirit helps us remember.

The other way God guides you is by impressions. God gave you a brain, and he wants you to use it. God will not control you; he’s given you free will. But he will give you an idea, and when you respond to it, he then begins to fill in the details.

When God gives you an idea, that’s called inspiration. When the Devil gives you an idea, that’s called temptation. When you need to know the difference, ask, “Teach me, Lord, what you want me to do, and lead me along a safe path” (Psalm 27:11 GNT).

In Jesus name Amen.

Peace be with you.

“God’s family is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth” (1 Timothy 3:15 GW).

You are called to belong, not just believe. Even in the perfect, sinless environment of Eden, God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone” (Genesis 2:18 NIV).

We are created for community, fashioned for fellowship, and formed for a family, and none of us can fulfill God’s purposes by ourselves. The Bible knows nothing of solitary saints or spiritual hermits.

While your relationship to Christ is personal, God never intends it to be private. In God’s family you are connected to every other believer. The Bible says, “In Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others” (Romans 12:5 NIV).

To Paul, being a “member” of the church meant being a vital organ of a living body, an indispensable, interconnected part of the body of Christ. We need to recover and practice the biblical meaning of membership. The church is a body, not a building, and an organism, not an organization—truths we encounter in such Scriptures as Romans 12:4-5, 1 Corinthians 6:15, and 1 Corinthians 12:12-27.

As the world Change daily, I pray you build your Foundation in God. In Jesus name Amen.

Peace be with you.

“I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD” (Psalm 27:13-14 NASB).

YESTERDAY was only Monday, but with Power outages, setbacks, letdowns, people or friends saying or doing discouraging things. One MIGHT think, “Hello, God, you there?” Then I laughed and remembered Peter walking on water, when he started to sink, the Lord asking, “Why doubt you of little faith.”

God has only good plans for us all, we must remember , “A blessing delayed is not a blessing denied. We all want INSTANT gratification, but that’s not how God always blesses. Yet a lot of people miss God’s plan for their lives because they don’t trust God. Instead, they decide to follow their own plan (Jonah and the whale), and in the end, that leads to hopelessness (Jonah in the whales belly) and pessimism (Saying what can’t or won’t be done). Just consider for a second if Joseph after being beat by his siblings, or sold as a slave, or thrown in jail for a lie....Consider what he went through with all the setbacks, but trusting in God’s plan , not his own. Setbacks lead to Setups. Joseph not only understood God’s goodness , but his promise. Romans 8:31 “If God is for us, then who can be against us?”

The more you understand God’s goodness, the more hopeful you’re going to be because hope is anticipating God’s goodness. The reason you can hope is because God promised to never leave us or forsake us.

Everything God does for you, through you, to you, and in you, he does because he loves and cares for you. Joseph went through things that seemed unfair. Because he Believed in God more than his current situations, he remained Hopeful that God’s plan would Reign over all the test he was facing. Joseph’s test turned into a testimony. (Psalm 32:8) I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.

Everybody needs God’s goodness. Everybody wants God’s goodness. But we have to understand and believe it to experience it. BELIEVE In his goodness, he blesses us with sustenance and balance, resilience and guidance, confidence and assurance, influence and abundance, benevolence and inheritance!

Believe the He can do all things, despite your current situation , in Jesus name Amen.

Peace be with you.

“The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever” (Psalm 23 NIV).

Psalm 23 explains the ways God wants to show his goodness in your life. All of these benefits are available to you not because you’re good, but because God is good. When you truly understand God’s goodness as revealed in Psalm 23, it will strengthen your faith. You will be able to say:

1.God will meet all my needs; there’s no reason to worry.
2.God will help me rest and find peace.
3.God will refresh and replenish me when I am drained.
4.God will guide me to make right decisions.
5.God will be with me on my dark and fearful days.
6.God will protect me and keep me safe.
7.God will support me, even if I am surrounded by conflict.
8.God will give me his favor.
9.God will fill me with more blessing than I can imagine.
10.God will secure my future and take me to heaven one day.

When Jesus came to Earth and died for our sins on the cross, he opened the door for us to receive all the benefits of God’s goodness. That’s why we call it Good Friday. It was good for you and me! Good Friday certainly wasn’t good for Jesus. It was painful. It was torture. He willingly said, “No one takes my life away from me. I give it up of my own free will” (John 10:18 GNT). Sending the Messiah to die for you is the ultimate expression of God’s goodness.

Jesus said, “My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep” (John 10:10-11 NLT).

Everybody needs what God has to offer. But are you looking for it in all the wrong places? Many people expect those 10 needs to be met by their careers, bank accounts, friendships, romantic relationships, children, or family. God is saying to you, “No, I’m it. I’m the source of all goodness in your life.”

The biggest cause of stress in your life is the lack of focusing on God’s goodness. When you choose to trust in God’s goodness, you’ll be able to face your struggles with hope and renewed faith.

In Jesus Name Amen

Peace be with you.

Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

We all will face trials in or life. Many trials we may understand, some are spontaneous and makes no sense. Going through loosing a loved one, loosing your job, or being hurt by someone does not Justify us to stop believing. In Hebrews it says, “He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him,” it does not say, “diligently seek Him when things are good.”

I had a conversation with a man who feels his unfortunate circumstances ( lost family members, fiancé and his profession due to unfortunate situation) it has caused his Faith to waiver. He is wondering if God truly is PRESENT in his life , and if so , why is he facing these tough trials? Frustration and doubt can’t become our focus when facing a storm. We will loose faith if we focus on the problems and not on God. So we must diligently SEEK Him.

Yes, He wants you to sense His presence, but God’s more concerned that you trust him than that you feel him. “We live by faith, not by sight”(2corinthians 5:7)or by our feelings.

The situations that will stretch your faith most will be those times when life falls apart and God is nowhere to be found or we think. This happened to Job. On a single day he lost everything—his family, his business, his health, and all his possessions. And then, for 37 chapters, God said nothing!

How do you praise God when you don’t understand what’s happening in your life and God is silent? How do you stay connected in a crisis without communication? How do you keep your eyes on Jesus when they’re full of tears? You do what Job did: “Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: ‘Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised’” (Job 1:20-21 NIV).

Tell God exactly how you feel. Pour out your heart to him. Unload every emotion that you’re feeling. Job did this when he said, “I can’t be quiet! I am angry and bitter. I have to speak” (Job 7:11 GNT).

He cried out when God seemed distant: “Oh, for the days when I was in my prime, when God’s intimate friendship blessed my house” (Job 29:4 NIV).

God can handle your doubt, anger, fear, grief, confusion, and questions. But it starts with our faith in Him. Don’t shut the door on God because life has become challenging. By his FAITH despite his circumstances, Everything Job lost was restored. Continuing praying through the storms and seek Him. God will never leave us or forsake us. In Jesus name Amen.

Peace be with you.
