Proud is an understatement.

On behalf of our program, we are excited to announce that Bryce Dunagan-Stephens has officially committed to continue his academic and basketball career at Yuba College.

From day one, he’s represented everything we believe in—hard work, toughness, leadership, and a team-first mindset. His growth on and off the court has been incredible to watch, and this opportunity is a direct result of the dedication he’s put in year after year.

Yuba is getting not just a talented player, but a high-character young man who will make an immediate impact.

We’re proud of you and can’t wait to see what’s next. The best is yet to come.

As we navigate our basketball season, some events that our players and coaches encounter go well beyond our practices and games. The Northern Nevada high school basketball community is truly like a family for many of us. We would like to extend our deepest appreciation and gratitude to Coach Santos and the other staff members from Dayton High School for their lifesaving efforts for one of their players at practice several weeks ago. We wish that player and his family the absolute best on his road to recovery.

LCSD Board of Trustee's Kallie Day & Dawn Carson recognized Danielle Salamone, Jason Santos, and Rob Schnieder for their heroic response after a medical emergency at DHS and for being a true example of what it means to care for others. We are so proud to honor them with an LCSD Recognition Coin for their outstanding actions!

The boys were lucky to have some special guests at their first two games in San Diego. Huge thanks to Jack and Nancy for making the drive to cheer on the Vaqueros! No one shows Vaquero pride quite like the Cooks!

Day 2 of the Torrey Pines Classic in San Diego. The boys won their 1st game last night. Huge test tonight vs a very talented Lincoln team out of Stockton. Go Vaqueros!

Congratulations to Sheldon Jacobson on hitting the career 1000 point mark, recognized before our game against Incline Tuesday.

Tomorrow (Friday), we host Spanish Springs in a matchup of two of the top teams in Northern Nevada. Come out to support your Vaqueros in our main gym: Freshmen at 3 pm, JV at 4:30 pm, and Varsity at 6 pm.

Annual road trip to Vegas for our program, taking part in the Legacy High School Classic this weekend. We picked up our first win of the tournament last night over Rancho and will face Faith Lutheran this evening with a chance to advance to the semifinals. Go Vaqueros!
