IMPORTANT NFA TRANSFER UPDATE

For the record: ATF Form 4 approval is still required for silencer transfers in Nevada.

Under Nevada law, silencers may be possessed, transferred, or sold when authorized under federal law. Because of this, Vet Mech Arms will not transfer or sell any silencer until all federally required NFA documentation has been properly completed and ATF approval has been received.

The current ATF Form 4 remains the application used to transfer and register an NFA firearm, including silencers, to an individual or other eligible entity. (ATF)

As federal and Nevada laws or regulations change, Vet Mech Arms will comply with the law in effect at the time of the transfer and will update our procedures accordingly.

We understand there is a lot of information circulating regarding upcoming NFA changes and potential reductions in Form 4 processing times. While processing times have already improved substantially, including a reported median of 6 days for individual eForm 4 applications as of the latest ATF data, approval is still required before Vet Mech Arms can complete an NFA transfer. (ATF)

Bottom line: Until the applicable legal requirements actually change, Form 4 approval is required for silencer transfers at Vet Mech Arms.
