Congratulations to Christian and Annie for their Pra Jiad promotions at this week!

Annie has been a fixture with our team for a couple years now, and in recent months has really stepped up her training and skills. It’s exciting to watch students/athletes break through barriers and transcend to their next level, and she has done exactly that, motivating others along the way.

Christian is a multiple gold and silver medal Jiu Jitsu and Catch Wrestling athlete at BMBXMMA, one of the main standouts from the talented Cortex-CSG Combat Sport Team. He recently began his journey into the Striking side of Combat Sports, proving himself to be a natural multi-sport talent, and just an all around great guy.

Congrats y’all. As always, Hard Earned & Much Deserved.

New classes are forming now at in Ferndale, MI! North Detroit’s home for Muay Thai and all things Martial Art and Combat Sports related just got bigger and better! Boombox is now 4,000 square feet of fun and function, and things just keep getting bigger and better. Check out OriginMT, learn to defend yourself, and be part of the Muay Thai Movement that is happening here in the Motor City!

The Leg Ride is a simple, intuitive way to dissipate the absorption of impact, and redistribute that momentum into your opponent. If timed correctly, and when using the correct shape, it can also be an evasion that results in off-beat counter-kicking.

Congratulations to all of these awesome people on their successful Muay Thai evaluations today at ! Everyone showed great technique, great mechanics, great spirit, and great respect for the culture and dignity of Muay Thai. Not everyone on Team Origin is a fighter, but as cliche as it sounds, everyone on this team is a Champion. As Ajarn Rick Faye says, “I train Champions, they just look like everyday people.” The test process is an opportunity for these artist-athletes to track their progress, get coach feedback, and progress along the path of self mastery through the transformative practice of Thai Martial Arts. Everyone here is well on their way. Congrats, all! Every promotion today was hard earned, and well deserved.

Happy Teachers Day to the great Ajarn Chai Sirisute, the man responsible for bringing the beautiful and powerful art of Thai Boxing to America. He has been a pioneer all over the world, spreading the sport, art, and culture of Muay Thai everywhere he goes. His legacy remains an inspiration to multiple generations of students, teachers, fighters, and coaches. We wish him great health and happiness. 🙏
