A great weekend was had by is NE Florida and SE Georgia sailors.
The Coastal Cup from Fernandina Beach, FL to St. Simons, GA.
Organized by David Heine and the Golden Isles Community, Sailing Center.
Fin along with captain and crew finally got their act together and didn't miss any markers or blow out our sails!
Yes, we did have a genoa shackle break... Mike and Gilson jury rigged that in an instant and we were back in action.
Things were a tad nerve wracking, towards the end of the race as we could see the boats behind us getting a fresh breeze which we did not...
Anyway, Fin surprised us all with an over all win!
Well done team!
I have to add that the last time my name was on the Cup was 2006, while sailing Skimmer, our J30!
