Your 2026 Pirate Boys weightlifting team won the Olympic Region 2 District 4 Championship today. Could possibly be our first district championship in weightlifting. Congratulations to these young men who put in hard work through the whole year to get stronger and more powerful. Their hard work and dedication has paid off.

Clay Hicks once again got top traditional lifter in regards to body weight at this meet.

Pull/Jerk Blocks 2.0 pretty much done! Reinforced the undersides with extra 2x material in a weak spot from the original design and added some 1/2” recycled conveyor belt that got donated from a local establishment. Pirates should be able to throw around some heavy weight on there for a long time to come. Just might add some labels for the heights of the boxes.

Your Pirate Boys Weightlifting team won the Olympic side of the County Championship today.

Luke French, Clay Hicks, Kevin Ortiz, and Kalani Tucker were also individual county championships for their respective weight classes and divisions.

Clay Hicks also was the best lifter in regard to his strength relative to his body weight for traditional.

Great day for the Pirates on the platforms.

Thanks to your millage, the FBHS weight room keeps getting better!

We got to replace all of our old rusty trap bars with these new powder coated Titan trap bars that will last a long time for us!

We also got an industrial dehumidifier to try and keep all of our new equipment rust free the best that we can.

Thank you!

We’re two weeks away from the first chance to see your 2024 Boys Weightlifting team get after it and throw some heavy weight around. All meets are in the FBHS gym unless otherwise stated.

We always like upgrading the weight room while the students are away on break. This years project was these jerk/pull blocks. These will get lots of use not just for our Olympic lift variations but for other strength and power exercises as well. Big thank you to Mr. Pat Edwards and RPM Lumber for supplying us with all the needed material and to Rustic Inspired Designs for guiding our build and letting us use his workshop. Also thanks to Luke Twardy, Ryan Hepler, Fred Mahler, Jaxson Smith, and Chase Josza for volunteering their time to help with the assembly of them.
