Safety is paramount to the club through education classes supported by the National Rifle Association and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Our club has known many homes through the years, but in 1979 our current indoor range was constructed. FFRPC is governed by a board of directors, who are elected from our membership base to three year terms of service. Operation costs are paid out
of membership fees and nightly shooter fees. Memberships:
Junior Rifle Club
Gary Wahl: 218-736-2242
This portion of the club is open to girls and boys ages 10-18, who are interested in learning about and honing their firearm skills. Participants are taught safety and marksmanship with the .22 caliber rifle on our 50-foot indoor range. The program is NRA-approved, and all equipment is furnished except the cost of ammunition. Due to state and federal regulations, participants must have a permission slip to participate. Furthermore, Junior members must purchase and store at the range all ammunition obtained through the club. Senior Rifle Club
Gary Boettger: 218-739-2154
Senior Rifle Club is open to participation by shooters meeting the requirements to purchase and possess a rifle. This portion of the club fires .22 caliber target rifles with any sights, from 4 positions, with primary focus on accuracy. Participants must furnish their own equipment or make arrangements to use a target-type rifle. The club does have some equipment available for use, but recommends that shooters check in advance for availability. Nightly fees are as follows:
Members: $5.00
Non-members: $10.00
Indoor Pistol Club
Gary Wahl (Mon-Wed) 218-736-2242
Doug Quam (Saturday) 218-205-4914
The pistol segment of the club is the fastest-growing and most co-ed of our functions. The club does not currently own any handguns, therefore participation requires shooters to furnish their own pistols. Leagues, pistol matches, and a new individual course are offered, or shooters may simply shoot for practice. Participants need not be members, but must meet membership requirements. Participants may not be less than 12 years of age, and those under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian directly supervising them. Eye and ear protection is required during firing and is provided by the club free of charge. Saturday is an individual practice night--safety is the only guideline. Nightly fees are as follows:
Members: $5.00
Non-members: $10.00
*This fee covers only 1 set of three targets. Additional targets are available at 25¢ each. Club funtions include:
Hunter sight-ins
High power rifle class
High power rifle competition
Beginning pistol shooting
Beginning rifle shooting
Concealed carry instruction class
The club is open to the public for use during the times listed above. Nights of the week are designated as follows:
