🏁 Midwest Thunder .25 Quarter Midget Racing Series
#4 recap!

What a LONG day! 🌧️😴 We got all the heats and some lower mains in before the rain hit. After a delay, we finally got back to racing just after 10 pm and wrapped up around 1:30 am

🏎️ Heavy Honda — His heat put him straight into the A-Main. After MANY cautions, the race timed out with less than 10 laps completed. Colten finished P3! 🥉 We think he had more, but we’ll take the podium!

🏎️ Heavy 160 — His heat put him in the B-Main, where he transferred into the A! He had a fast car and finished P7!(none of us can really remember any details) 😴

🏎️ Heavy World Formula — Colten WON his heat race and went straight to the A-Main! 🏁 Unfortunately, some not-so-great racing situations shuffled him toward the back. He finished P9.

Not all the results we were looking for, but we’ll take it! Week in and week out, Colten runs clean, good races, keeps learning and gives it everything he has. That’s all we could ask for❤️

We are not sure exactly sure where are next race will be, but stay tuned.

🏁 Richmond ➡️ Home… with a little CJC shopping along the way! 😎

On the road home from Richmond and decided it was time to order some NEW CJC Racing gear for the rest of the season! 🔥🏁

We’ve still got plenty of racing left, so it’s time to REP CJC! 💙

At 13 years old, Michigan native Colten Carrier has three seasons of quarter midget racing under his helmet and continues to distinguish himself as a strong competitor. He has earned a winning reputation on the track and has received recognition for his strong character and sportsmanship.

🏁 A & B Main Day here in Richmond!

This track is definitely a tricky one!

Heavy Honda B Main: Colten started P9 and finished P6. He didn’t make the transfer to the A Main, but he ran a good, hard race and gave it everything he had. 💪

Heavy World Formula A Main: Started P6, and honestly, the entire race was a bit of a hot mess! 😂 Lots of pushing, wrecking, and getting shuffled around. Colten worked his way back up around P5/P6 with just a couple laps to go. On a restart, getting pushed from behind caused him to turn another car, and he took the strike. He ended up around P9/P10 — still waiting on official results.

One thing I was really proud of — after the race, Colten went to TJ, the Race Director, and asked what he could have done differently to avoid the strike when he was being pushed from behind. ❤️ That’s what it's all about — learning, asking questions, and getting better.

Definitely a learning experience today, but as always, he held his head high and is already ready for the next one! Onward and forward! 🏁💙

Now we’re off to enjoy the NASCAR Cup race tonight! 🏎️🏁

🏁 Heavy Honda C-Main is done!

Colten started P6 and finished P3! 💪 He ran a great race and earned the transfer to tomorrow’s B-Main, where he’ll start P9. Time for a little more alphabet soup tomorrow! 😂

We are officially done racing for the night, so now it’s time to head over to the big track and enjoy the Craftsman Truck Series! 🏎️❤️🏁

🔥 Heat races are done here in Richmond! 🔥

And when I say it is HOT… it is BLAZING out here! 🥵🏁

Heavy Honda: Colten started P5 and was running them down! The car was FAST, but after getting shuffled back and some contact, he wasn’t able to finish. He’ll start P6 in the C Main, so looks like we’ll be playing a little alphabet soup today! 😂🍲 Time to work our way through!

Heavy World Formula: Started P4 ➡️ finished P3! He’ll start P6 in the A Main! 💪

All in all, a great day in Richmond so far. Fast cars, hot temps, and lots of racing still to come!

And a pretty cool bonus — Jason and I got to meet Richard Petty! 🤩🏁

What an incredible weekend at Little Kalamazoo Speedway for the NASCAR Youth Series National!

Colten had a fantastic showing all weekend. He won his Heavy Honda heat race, which locked him into the A-Main. He drove an outstanding race, even battling up front for a few laps, and brought home an impressive 4th-place finish against some of the best young racers in the country. We couldn't be more proud of the way he drove.

The Heavy World Formula class didn't quite go our way. The car needed a few adjustments after the heat race, but Colten never gave up. In the B-Main, he was unfortunately spun out and sent to the back, ending his chance to transfer. That's racing sometimes, but he raced his heart out until the very end, just like he always does.

One of the highlights of the weekend was getting to meet and spend a little time with Carson Hocevar—a pretty cool experience!

More than anything, we're thankful for another amazing weekend with our racing family. The people at Little Kalamazoo are second to none, and they always make us feel at home.
Now it's time for a weekend off to regroup, make a few improvements, and get ready to head to Richmond for the next NASCAR Youth Series National in just over a week.
