Q. Are ice SKATE RENTALS included with rental tickets or when renting the rink for a private event?
A. Yes! Quality, hockey skate rentals are included! Our skates are from a manufacturer located in Washington State! Our sizes range from Toddler 8 to a Men's 14.
Q. Is your ice rink "real" or "synthetic" ice?
A. Our ice rink is a high grade synthetic rink manufactured in the United States and purchased from a company out of Maryland.
Q. What steps do you take to give the best possible SKATER EXPERIENCE?
A. 1) Quality hockey skates, 2) Regular sharpening with a commercial machine, 3) Consistent cleaning of the surface to remove any debris, 4) Special formula is used on the surface to give the best possible glide, 5) tickets are limited per session to avoid overcrowding the rink
Q. What are the advantages of using synthetic ice, especially for an outdoor rink?
A. Synthetic ice is eco-friendly and requires no electricity! Synthetic ice will not melt once that North Carolina sun comes out! No slushy spots, no melted spots, no puddles, and no wet clothes!
Q. Do you provide SKATE AIDS?
A. Yes, we have several skate aids available!
Q. What is your WHY behind the holiday rink?
A. Kelly grew up in Michigan and actively participated in winter sports (ice skating, skiing, snowboarding, sledding, etc.) She wanted to bring a little outdoor winter fun to North Carolina as well as bring the community together during the holidays!
Both James (Pops) and Kelly absolutely LOVE Christmas and know the holidays can be bittersweet, especially in a military town. They know first hand the heartache of being separated from family during the holidays and wanted to create a place for our community to be able to come together during the season. For this reason, THE EDGE WILL ALSO BE OPEN CHRISTMAS DAY! 🎄 🎅
