MARTIN TAKES NIGHT 2 OF USCS FALL NATIONAL AT TALLADEGA SHORT TRACK
EASTABOGA, AL – September 6, 2026 - Hayden Martin of Olive Branch, MS went flag-to-flag on Sunday night to win the 30-lap Hoosier Racing Tire United Sprint Car Series Presented XC Gear 30th Anniversary Outlaw Thunder Tour Night 2 Fall Brawl Feature Race. Tucker Boulton of Brighton, TN finished second and third went to Coen McDaniel of Gaffney, SC.
The defending USCS National Champion Dale Howard of Byhalia, MS took the fourth spot and two time USCS National Champion Jordan Mallett of Greenbrier, AR was fifth. Fall Nationals Night 1 winner, 16-time USCS National Champion and National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Inductee Terry Gray of Bartlett, TN drove to a sixth-place finish.
Two-time USCS National Champion Morgan (formerly Turpen) Havener of Cordova, TN took the seventh spot and Jeff Willingham of Ripley, MS was eighth. The Wilwood Disc Brakes Hard Charger of the Race Award went to 14-year-old Tyler Lupton of Clarkston, MI, who started 17th and finished ninth. Ethan Jones of Sarah, MS rounded out the top ten.
In preliminary action, Martin won the six-lap Hoosier Racing Tire Speed Dash to earn the Pole Position for the 30-lap Feature Race. The two eight-lap Heat Races were won by Kyle Amerson of Montgomery, AL in the Engler Machine & Tool First Heat, and Howard in the XC Gear Second Heat.
Martin took the lead at the start of the race from the pole position followed by Amerson, Howard, McDaniel, and Boulton in the top five. The red flag stopped the action on lap six when Amerson flipped in turn two. The Montgomery, AL Kidney Doctor walked away uninjured.
McDaniel passed Howard for the second spot on the restart, but Martin had pulled out to a 1.359 second lead by lap ten. McDaniel closed to within .655 seconds of the leader in lapped traffic at the halfway point on lap 15. By lap 20, Martin had pulled back out to a .961 second lead over McDaniel.
With five laps remaining, Martin had stretched out to a 2.2 second lead over the 15-year-old McDaniel, but that was erased on lap 28 when the caution flag closed up the field when Robert Tyler of Mount Pleasant, NC spun in turn four. Martin prevailed for his fourth USCS career win in the three-lap dash to the finish, taking a .544 second margin of victory under the checkered flag.
The next two races for the Hoosier Racing Tire United Sprint Car Series Presented By XC Gear 30th Anniversary Outlaw Thunder Tour Fall Brawl will be on Friday night, September 11 at Hattiesburg (MS) Speedway, and on Saturday night, September 12 at Hunt The Front Southern Raceway in Milton, FL.
Willingham holds a slim two-point lead over Gray, who is looking for his unprecedented 17th USCS National Championship. McDaniel leads the Fall Brawl points chase by two points over Gray and Mallett. For more information about USCS, visit their website at uscsracing.com and the series page.
