Cojimar, Cuba, in 1945….. This massive Great White was captured by 6 local fishermen on there sixteen foot skiff. It was essentially a conflict kill, as it had been destroying all of there fishing nets. The truth behind its size is disputed. It was claimed to have weighed around seven thousand pounds with a length of twenty one feet, but new age analysis claims it to have been smaller than what was recorded. The story of this massive shark is believed to have innspired Ernest Hemingway to write’ “The Old Man and the Sea”, as Hemingway was known to frequent the village of Cojimar., where “”El Monstruo” was landed. It is one helluva’ gnarly looking shark in these old grainy black and white photos……

This post is going to ruffle some feathers, but, who gives a bakers f*ck…. The legend with a Bull shark he clapped back in the day with a speargun…….. “Back in the days when I was spearfishing professionally, I used to hunt the sharks under water and later on I quit hunting the sharks and started hand feeding and riding and interacting with sharks and learned a lot from that. The one in the picture is a male Bull shark can be very dangerous years later I caught a ride on one and it turned on me and attacked me. They have a really bad temper, more than other sharks. By the grace of God I am ok.”……..

Panama Trip Report:
Quick strike mission complete… Not the hottest bite I’ve seen down there, but not the slowest either, we managed to come home with full coolers…. We had a couple handfuls of small Yellowfin’s caught on poppers, and we harvested some “Cherna’s” deep dropping in 100 to 150 fathoms. Jumped in on a high spot and speared a decent Cube and some nice Colorado’s. Rounded off the fish box with a variety of good eating snappers utilizing slow pitch jigs and live bait. The weather was great, the crew was a blast, and all the boats ran smoothly… Can’t ask for much more…..

The Italians sure know how to make nice sh*t, and Riva has been doin’ it since 1842…. The Amalfi coast dream right here…...

I gotta be honest, I never heard of one of these f**kin’ things ever in my life…. There is some weird sh*t swimming around down at the bottom of the abyss. Deep dropping is freaken’ cool…… “Spikey Oreodory, Neocyttus rhomboidalis. This was caught in 480m of water but are found down to 1700m.“… 📸:
