🔥 WITH HEATING OIL AROUND $5.15/GALLON… IT MIGHT BE TIME TO RETHINK HOW YOU HEAT.

If you’ve been considering a pellet stove, this is the time to make the switch. Harman pellet stoves are on sale at Northern Lights now through September 28th, and when you look at the cost of heating oil compared with pellets, the numbers really start to speak for themselves.

At an average of $5.15 per gallon, 100 gallons of heating oil costs $515. We currently have high-quality Lauzon pellets for $399 per ton, with several other pellet options available as well. Stock up on pellets right here at Northern Lights and have a dependable, efficient heat source ready before Maine winter arrives.

And when you invest in a Harman, you’re investing in one of the highest-quality pellet stoves made—built for reliable heat season after season. We carry several Harman models, so we can help you choose the right stove for your home and heating needs.

Lower your dependence on expensive heating oil. Heat smarter. Stay warmer.

Harman Pellet Stove Sale ends September 28th! Stop into Northern Lights in Farmington or Rangeley and talk with us about your options before the sale ends.

MAINE — BE HONEST… WHEN DO YOU FIRST TURN THE HEAT ON?

Are you the person who fires up the wood stove the SECOND you feel that first chilly September morning?

Or are you stubbornly holding out until October because “it’s not cold yet”?

What temperature finally makes you give in and turn the heat on?

We have a feeling Mainers are going to have some VERY different answers to this one.

🍎🚲 FALL RIDES, GOOD FRIENDS & A TRAIL CALLED CIDER HOUSE. 🍂 Titcomb Mountain to Morrison Hill Orchard!

If you’re looking for another reason to get outside with family and friends this fall, add Cider House Trail at Titcomb Mountain to your list!

Built in 2025 by the Central Maine New England Mountain Bike Association summer trail crew, Cider House is a new singletrack trail that winds through the hardwoods near Titcomb Mountain. Expect flowing turns, a bridge, some rocks and plenty of that beautiful Maine woods scenery that’s about to get even better as the leaves start changing.

And how perfect is the name Cider House? The trail was made possible in part thanks to access provided by the Hollingsworth family of nearby Morrison Hill Orchard & Ayuh Cidah.

Grab the bikes, bring the kids or a few friends, and make an afternoon out of exploring the trails at Titcomb. There really isn’t much better than bikes, crisp fall air, colorful leaves and spending time outside together right here in Western Maine. Lunch at Ayuh Cidah is so much fun! Grab lunch then head back to the trail systems. Where you can ride for hours.

We’re pretty lucky to have places like this in our own backyard — and the people who put in the work to keep creating them.

Last picture taken in 2021 at Morrison Hill Farms
with friends. The kids were so little then!

🚲 Who are you bringing along for a fall ride?

CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT: MEET AMY! 🚴‍♀️

We love getting to highlight the people who support Northern Lights — and Amy is definitely one of them!

Amy has been a wonderful Northern Lights customer, trusting our team to help keep her bikes maintained and ready for all the miles she puts on them. She recently shared a photo of her fat tire bike purchased right here at Northern Lights, and we thought it was the perfect opportunity to give her a shout-out!

Amy is the coach behind Triathlon Training With Amy, offering personalized triathlon and fitness coaching designed around each person's goals and real life. And she certainly has the experience to back it up — she has competed in 300+ triathlons, earned two World Championship titles at the Olympic distance, and competed at the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii. 🏊‍♀️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Whether you're training for a triathlon, looking to improve your cycling or running, or simply working toward a new fitness goal, Amy creates individualized programs to help you get there.

Amy, thank you for continuing to trust Northern Lights with your bikes and for being such a great customer. We appreciate your support and love seeing our bikes out there being PUT TO WORK!

We can show you bikes, skis, stoves & gear all day long… but Northern Lights has always been about more than what we sell. ❤️

It’s the people who walk through our doors, the conversations at the counter, stories shared, the bikes, and stoves we’ve worked on year after year, and seeing the same families come back through different seasons of life.

Some of you have been shopping with Northern Lights for YEARS — and we just want to say THANK YOU for sticking around and supporting us! ❤️
Whether you've been coming through our doors for decades or just discovered us recently, we're so grateful you're here.
We wouldn't be Northern Lights without our customers and this community. ❤️

MAINE RIDERS — WE WANT TO SEE WHERE YOU’VE BEEN RIDING. 🚲🌲

One of the best parts about biking in Maine is that there’s always another trail, dirt road or view to find.

If you’ve been out riding lately, drop a photo from your ride in the comments and tell us where you were!

Even better if your Northern Lights bike made the trip.

We’d love to start sharing more real rides from our customers and local riders right here on the page.
And if biking in Maine is your thing, stick around — we’ve got more local rides, trail ideas, bike tips and customer adventures coming.
