MASTA String Camps

MASTA String Camps This page is for past, present, and future campers, staff, and parents. Information about MASTA camp There are three sessions available to students.

The MASTA String Camps are youth string camps held annually in late June at the Howell Nature Center in Howell, Michigan. MASTA Camps provide young string students the opportunity to have a specialized camp experience on their instrument. While at camp students participate in orchestra, sectionals, small ensembles, as well as electives and recreation activities. Session I is a 3-day session design

ed for young string players in their 1st or 2nd year of playing their instrument or of younger ages. Students in 6th grade or younger will be successful at this session. This session is also a great first time camp experience. Session II is a 5-day session designed for students in their 2nd or 3rd year of playing in either 6th or 7th grade. This is a more in-depth experience than Session I. Session III is a week long session designed for the middle-school aged student currently in grades 7-9. In addition to orchestra, students will be assigned to a chamber music ensemble. There is a brief audition at the start of camp for students attending this session. Session III also features a day where campers visit the high ropes course!
