Welcome Coach Marsh!
The Canandaigua City School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Coach Eric Marsh as the new head coach of the Canandaigua Academy Girls Varsity Soccer program.
Coach Marsh brings more than two decades of coaching experience at the youth, high school, collegiate, and club levels, along with a proven commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field. Most recently, he served as the Canandaigua Modified Boys Soccer Coach for 11 seasons, where he focused on building technical skills, fostering sportsmanship, and preparing players for success throughout the district's soccer program.
Prior to joining Canandaigua Athletics, Coach Marsh served as the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Finger Lakes Community College for nine seasons, compiling an outstanding 119-20 overall record. Under his leadership, the Lakers earned six consecutive Top 10 national rankings, produced 13 NJCAA All-Americans, and consistently excelled in the classroom with a cumulative team GPA of 3.5. His experience also includes coaching with the Canandaigua Attack Soccer Club for more than a decade and Buffalo Premier Soccer, where he helped develop competitive youth athletes.
As a player, Coach Marsh competed at the NCAA Division I level at Canisius University after earning NJCAA All-American honors at Finger Lakes Community College. He was later inducted into the Finger Lakes Community College Athletics Hall of Fame and continued his playing career with the Vermont Voltage of the Premier Development League.
In addition to his coaching accomplishments, Coach Marsh brings extensive experience in higher education and leadership. He earned a Doctorate in Business Administration in Healthcare Management and Leadership from California Intercontinental University, a Master of Science in Health Promotion from Mississippi State University, a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Canisius University, and an Associate of Science in Physical Education and Exercise Science from Finger Lakes Community College. He currently serves as the Department Chairperson for Health Science & Human Performance at Finger Lakes Community College, where he provides leadership for multiple academic programs while mentoring faculty and students. He lives in Canandaigua with his wife, Michelle, and they have four children who are or have been involved in athletics at Canandaigua.
