What a day today. It’s been a beautiful day and all teams did will. Both Thorns and Burnley played lights out. Both went undefeated. While Wrexham and Racing played their hearts out they were unable to put up a win today.

First tournament of the fall season. Even though we didn’t make a championship match. We had a very strong and successful weekend. My “Thorns” 2016/2017 Girls went 2-1 and only lost on an amazing shot that hit the crossbar and unluckily bounced. Then my U9 Wrexham boys went 1-2 but they learned a lot and will adapt for next weekends league games. But the surprise of the weekend was the turn around of the Burnley team that after a disastrous first half in the first game they found their form and ended up going 2-1. While Racing had a weekend off.

This week is a short week with just one practice on Wednesday. But next weekend on Saturday all four teams will be back at it in Rantoul for SLYSA Central Illinois league weekend.

But the best part of the weekend is the surprise from the wife and kids showing up in Cap-N-Beard branded shirts.
