As many of you know, several local bicycle shops have closed their doors over the past 6 months. The bicycle industry is becoming increasingly difficult to navigate as a brick and mortar store, supplier inventory, rising prices on bicycles, parts and accessories and discounts from online retailers. The cost of living and doing business is increasing, electricity, insurance, propane and heating fuel, and labor costs are on the rise as well.
To combat these difficulties and solidify our place as your bicycle shop we will be raising our service prices effective 7/1/2026. We have been arguing all sides of this topic and have come to the conclusion that for us to maintain the best bicycle service you will receive, in the most acceptable timeframe possible, our labor prices must increase. We will be raising labor pricing approximately 10%. All bicycles dropped off for service before July 1, will get our current pricing.
We pride ourselves in being a great place to work, with pleasurable, enthusiastic employees who you all love and deserve a fair wage for the top quality work that they perform. This also makes Central Wheel a great place to shop, ask questions, or just hang out. We love the atmosphere that is Central Wheel and the comradery of our staff, customers and friends.
For those of you who don’t know, we also started a customer rewards program and added to our benefits of purchasing a new bicycle from Central Wheel. First off Rewards, you will get 3.5% back of your purchase in the form of rewards dollars for future purchases (there are no limits or exclusions on earning rewards or redeeming rewards). Benefits of purchasing a bike with us also include; 10% off any parts and accessories you purchase with your new bicycle, 90 days of free adjustments (from the purchase date) and a ½ price tuneup within 12 months from purchase of your new bicycle.
