Last week I bowled my first ever USBC Open Championships in Reno and it was such an incredible experience! Not just the amazing tournament but getting to see the National bowling Stadium for the first time was incredible! Scores could of been better but I was just there to enjoy the time with good people and soak in the atmosphere of the stadium! Thank you to Michael Snow for the invite, Chris Woolcock for bowling doubles with me and the Lewsaw family for letting me join their team 💪🏻 🎳 🇨🇦

Sunday was a double tournament day!

We started at Superbowl in Canton with the MDUSBC Turbo cup men's scratch series where I struggled right out of the gate shooting 156 game 1! Began to find better ball reaction but still couldn't put enough strikes together to cut into the deficit! Scores were extremely high at this event and you needed 873 for 4 to make the top 20 and I ended up 148 pins out...

Unfortunately my day didn't end there the second event was a Win a spot for the USBC Masters held at Thunderbowl lanes in Allen Park. I once again fell way behind early shooting 120 in game 1! Spares were at a premium and I wasn't having any luck leaving easily makable spares... The cut for this event was 749 for 4! I was once again short of the cut by 180 pins!

I certainly didn't throw the ball as well as I had the day before but my main struggle was just not matching up how I played the lanes and which equipment I was using fast enough to make any moves in the standings! Just gotta shake this day off and get back to work 💪🏻 🎳

Today I bowled the MSBS Country lanes metro challenge ran by Brian Regan along with his great helpers!

My return to the lanes! First tournament bowling nearly pain free since back in October when the Players Tour came to Windsor!

I went into today's event without any expectation, I was grateful just to be back on the lanes competing again and it started GREAT! 221, 230 and 194 for my first 3 of 5 games which had me placed inside the top 12! Unfortunately I lost my ball reaction and made the wrong ball choice that I stuck with way too long only managing a 149 game 4... I was still 10 pins safe of the number and needed to put together one more good game to keep myself inside it, confident I had the right ball in hand I started game 5 with a strike! Started seeing a hook spot in the middle of the left lane that caused some splits and I was only able to manage a 169 game 5, finishing my day T41 just 29 pins out of the cut...

I want to say today was a disappointment on how I collapsed late in qualifying but I am very happy I was able to put myself in a position to chase down a cut! Being in the game the whole time I finally felt like I was competing rather than donating. This was just a step in the right direction and we'll be building on that the rest of 2026! It's gonna be a good year 💪🏻 🎳 🇨🇦
