GoldStar is a nonprofit charity horse sanctuary. We offer English & Western lessons (6 years old & up) with a focus on horse health & maintenance.

We have had our beautiful appaloosa, Kaye with us for many years. She is now 27 years old and this picture is from some time ago before she retired with medical issues. Kaye has EPM which affects her mobility, especially the hind legs, and she is not stable. This morning she was not able to get up when we went to get her from pasture to come in for breakfast. It was all hands on deck to help this mare stand - and many many thanks to Levi, Matt, Haley, Judi for their assistance. And to Judi who hand walked her from pasture to her stall - about a 45 minute walk with baby steps. The vet will see her tomorrow. Meanwhile we will do all we can to help her get better, although EPM is expensive to treat. But our Kaye is not ready to cross the Rainbow Bridge yet. So keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Finally a dry Saturday is coming up! As you may know we had to cancel our shed sale on April18, then our yard to yards sale last Saturday both due to heavy rain. The Farmersville Yard to Yard sale was rescheduled to this Saturday June 13. Thank you Chamber of Commerce. Our sale, held at 715 Pecan Creek Court benefits GoldStar Horse Rescue and Sanctuary a 501c3 charity. We have lots of great stuff including baby items and medical equipment! A special item will be presented for all you diehard Dallas Cowboy fans - a handmade large quilt packaged in a basket with other Cowboy items. Starting price $300. Our sale is from 9AM until 3PM. Look forward to seeing you. And look forward to seeing Mr. Sun this time!

We hoped for some clear weather today for our much anticipated sale, but was not to be. Pouring rain again. For the second time we have to reschedule. New date to be announced. We are very disappointed as we have great stuff to offer to new homes - but we can't fight the weather. Thanks for your patience.

GoldStar Horse Rescue and Sanctuary is participating in this great fundraiser. Our location is 715 Pecan Creek Court - right off 78 behind Venecia Restaurant! We have lots of great stuff including medical equipment, baby furniture, toys, books, kitchen items, furniture, tack including saddles, and lots more. All proceed go directly to The Sanctuary to help our horses. We are a 501c3 charity! Please stop by from 9 to 3 to see these great bargains. We were rained out in April, but hope for better weather this time!

Good afternoon Horse lovers! Copper Toes is looking for you! She wants you to know the Sanctuary is looking for a few good people to help care for our wonderful horses. If you would like to work with horses, and learn about their care, we would love to talk to you. We have 2 shifts everyday. Morning is 8 until 11 and afternoon is 1 until 230. We will train you. Work available immediately - but if you apply please be sure that you have your own transportation and that you can commit to coming to work on your regularly scheduled shift. On this beautiful Memorial Day, we have sad news to share with all our Sanctuary friends. Our special llama, Donny, passed away in his sleep overnight. Donny came to us in 2015 at age 3, so he was about 14 years old. He was best friends with Dahli Llama who misses him. The two were constant companions and had a very important job at the Sanctuary - they protected our ponies and miniature horses from predators. Dahli is alone now and we hope the minis and ponies will keep him company. We will miss Donny a lot.

Good morning to all our friends! And of course happy Memorial Day weekend. If you are following us, we know you love horses and we have a lot of them all needing our love and care. We are looking for a new member of our GoldStar Team! The right person must love horses, must be reliable and must have their own transportation! Is this you? We have shifts available. Morning starts at 8 and goes till about 11, and afternoon starts at 1 and goes till about 230. We work 7 days a week and have opportunity on several days. If you are interested please text 972-732-9253 to discuss further and schedule nan interview. But - it is critical that you come to work on the shifts you may sign up for. We have a small staff and depend on our team members to come to work as promised.

Good evening to all our Sanctuary friends! I know that all of you love our beautiful paint - Big George! On the left he is grazing - he is such a mild mannered guy. But this morning when he came in for breakfast we saw a really bad cut on his shoulder. We immediately called our veterinarian Dr. Holt who spent a lot of time stitching our boy up! On the right is the "L" shaped cut. George will be on stall rest for awhile and the stitches will not come out for 2 weeks (hoping that George will not remove them himself!) George is resting in his stall tonight and tomorrow will be able to be hand walked for grazing. He received his tetanus shot and an antibiotic shot and will be on uniprim for 10 days. We have no idea how he injured himself, but looks like some sort of fall. We will never know. But kind thoughts for him and we hope for an uneventful healing. The doctor will be back next week to check him. If you are coming to the Sanctuary - give him an extra pet!

Hello to all our Sanctuary friends! Our great Farmersville Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a city wide Yards of Yard Sales on June 6! Of course The Sanctuary is a proud participant to raise money to help our deserving horses. Our sale is at 715 Pecan Creek Court (right behind Venecia Restaurant) at 380 and 78! We will have lots of items including durable medical equipment, infant items (stroller, bouncers, crib to youth bed, toys) kitchen items and for all your horse lovers tack items including saddles!
