Congratulations to this year’s recipients of the Cash Whitsell Bass Fishing Team Memorial Scholarship - Addison Adams & Graycin Strawn
Addison has been a part of this program all four years of high school, and during that time he’s competed at both the Regional and State level. Next year, Addison will attend Stephen F. Austin State University’s Aviation
program.
Grayson Strawn, was our lone Bass Beauty this season, but her
quiet strength and positivity made a big impact on this
team. This fall, she will attend Texas A&M University to
study finance.

Cash Scott Whitsell was only 15 years old and had completed his ninth-grade year at Farmersville High School when he passed away on July 21, 2021 surrounded by family and friends. Although his life was short, he made a lasting impact to the students at FHS. Cash was ranked #2 in the Class of 2024, was a member of Student Council, was identified as Gifted
& Talented, was a member of FFA, was a successful athlete, and played Varsity Football where his number, 11, was retired. He was a member of Shepherd’s Hill Lane Baptist Church and was a loving son, brother, and a friend to every person he met. Cash loved the great outdoors and was a hunter and an avid fisherman. He spent every chance he got near the water and possessed all the qualities that it takes to be a successful angler such as hard work, dedication, and perseverance. The Farmersville High School Bass Fishing Team was started in 2021 in loving memory of Cash, and we are proud to wear his name on the right sleeve of our jersey.
