๐ SEPTEMBER MEMBER OF THE MONTH, STEVE NESSETH!๐
This month, weโre proud to recognize someone who has been a longtime advocate for fitness, consistency, and serving his community.๐ช
Steve has made physical fitness a lifelong commitment, and his approach is one we can all learn from.
When we asked Steve why he works out, his answer really says it all:
โI have had a lifelong commitment to physical fitness. I have always done something. I'd rather be the oldest guy in the gym than the youngest guy in the nursing home.โ
๐ We couldn't have said it better ourselves.
Steve currently works out about three times a week, and he certainly doesn't take the easy route. His typical workout looks like:
โI do 20 minutes on an Arc trainer then 8 stations working upper and lower body. I do a 1000 yards on the rowing machine and then about 4 more stations.โ
That consistency has paid off, too. When we asked Steve what he has noticed that's different about himself since working out, he kept it simple:
โMy muscle tone (arms and legs) has greatly improved.โ
And when it comes to why Steve chooses Ignite Fitness, there's a little bit of family history involved:
โInitially, my wife, Jane, worked out at Fit for Life and when I retired from Carleton, she encouraged me to become a member. It's conveniently located near my home.โ
We're certainly glad Jane encouraged him to join us! โค๏ธ
But Steve's commitment to his community extends far beyond the gym. Steve has been an EMT for an incredible 50 YEARS! ๐
That's an unbelievable milestone and one that puts Steve in an incredibly exclusive group. Only 29 people in United States history have reached 50 years as an EMT.
Think about that for a second.
50 years of serving others.
50 years of showing up.
50 years of commitment.
And a lifelong commitment to staying active and taking care of himself along the way.
Steve is a perfect example that fitness isn't just about what you can do today. It's about building habits that keep you strong, active, and capable for the long haul.
Congratulations, Steve, on being our September Member of the Month!๐
Thank you for being a great example to everyone at Ignite Fitness and for showing us what consistency and commitment really look like.
And remember Steve's advice:
โI'd rather be the oldest guy in the gym than the youngest guy in the nursing home.โ ๐ช๐ฅ
Keep showing up, Steve! Weโre lucky to have you as part of the Ignite Fitness family! ๐งก
